Christmas Day 1996: took Kansui Maru passenger ferry on a “visa run” from japan to South Korea. This was to get/pickup a work visa so I could teach English for T.E.C. (Tokyo English Centre). I have heard that, before my time,Yoko Ono taught there.

Haven’t posted from 1969 diary lately. “Mikado” was a “coffee salon” near Seibu-Shinjuku Station . Tokyo Photo College is now Tokyo Polytechnic. “TEC” was Tokyo English Center. Albert Stamp was a manager there. “Dai Ichi” was the Dai Ichi Sagamiya rooming house in Shinjuku. Not enough room here …

Another same-day-in-1969 diary post. I wonder how “bad” that Shimbashi Chinese restaurant was?! In those days the Nikon Salon (ニコンサロン, “Nikon saron”)… all the camera manufacturers had salon/galleries… was above Matsuya Camera in Ginza. I think the US Forces USO was in the same building.

Another 1969 diary snapshot post. Was chumming around with Murray Sayle, the (late) London Sunday Times feature correspondent. Near the end of this diary entry I joined him at the FCCJ (Foreign Correspondent’s Club of Japan) for a bowl of their “1/2 cream oyster stee”… good stuff!!

That should have been (Dec 2).

I’m posting another phone-camera snapshot of my 1969 diary in Japan for this day (Nov 2). I started smoking cigarettes in Japan and note that it says “(5 cigs)” at the top. That would have been my consumption for that day. I think my brand was perhaps “Hope”…

But i heard that he can do a lot of pushups…
