Does anybody know if visually impaired students GCSE exams measuring questions are made to whole cm or half cm due to their rulers not having mm on? And similarly angles?

If that EXIT is the one I'm thinking of I recommend doing it in good light.

Already seeing progress. They wanted to turn it into a competition, I have agreed. Rewards for most correct and for coming up with cards I've not thought about that work well enough for me to want to add it to my collection.

I just give them a card as they're walking through the door. Though there is a scope for them testing each other 5 mins a lesson and swapping cards haven't tried it yet but will do.

I must admit there is more scope in the Applied than the Pure.

One example is "What assumptions are needed for a Binomial Distribution to be valid?"

#ALevelMaths I have started doing revision flashcards with the students as they enter to highlight little marks that they often miss. I think it's working well.

Agreed but centre of mass is in AQA

#alevelmaths, C.O.M. for centre of mass or conservation of momentum? Both? Neither? I never use C.O.E. for conservation of energy....anyone else?

I think no specs can apply the large data set properly. I love the idea of a large data set, I love the idea of applying statistics to it but including it as part of the A Level Maths as examined content is a struggle.... it ought to be a separate qualification in my opinion.

Hahahahahahahahahaha

What spec are you?

Solve on calc these days (unless question specifically states otherwise)

The good news is I now know how to electronically name the calculator.

Anyone ever accidentally acquired a students graphical calculator for a sustained period of time? #mathstoday ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Ot was definitely down last night

I enjoyed this too much. I'd add a film of a student writing a^2 + b^2 =c^2 and the next line a + b = c and being hit by train also.... or equally a trout

Glad it's not just me

I'm already regretting that 6 would be perfect

I do like the exponential.... I gave chi-squared as my answer but have regretted it ever since

I would argue everything is 42

In #mathstoday had a lovely question asked of me, if you were a distribution which would you be? Further Mathematicians and I agreed we wouldn't be normal (even if we love it) ... so how about it what would you be? #alevelmaths

The sum is the result when we add. The difference is the result when subtract. The product is the result when we multiply. The quotient isn't always the result when we divide e.g. 9รท2=4.5 The quotient is 4.
