ASHAs are always womenโbecause the system assumes women will โvolunteerโ care work without complaint. This built-in gender bias turns essential health work into unpaid obligation, not recognised labour. (3/n)
ASHAs spoke about being overburdened and underpaid, expected to do everything from immunisations to surveys, yet receiving neither recognition nor a stable income. Their work is essentialโbut remains invisible. (2/n)
