I'm gonna make tomorrow so magical and creative, and I can't wait to see what appears on these blank pages πŸ’œ

Her fingers ran over the smooth beads one more time, her skin prickling with the sense of Ricmorn and Hien watching her. "It reminds me that even on bad days, or when I'm feeling alone, there's someone out there who cares about me enough to take a tradition that's dear to me and make something of it," she said, her voice softer than before.

And it was days like this she needed the reminder the most.

Another deep rumble rolled through Ricmorn as he gently nudged her with an elbow, pressing himself closer to her. "You will always have someone who cares about you, sweetheart."

Silva knew he spoke the truth β€” friends, family, friends who she considered family after all they'd been through.

Hien said nothing, even if the words were on the tip of his tongue, but nodded in agreement after forcing himself to swallow. Steeled himself against the low ache in his chest. Silva β€” kami bless her β€” didn't notice his strange behavior. (Maybe she chalked it up to nerves as they waited for the signal to storm Doma Castle, or she didn't mind that he said nothing.)

But Ricmorn did. The Auri man raised a single white eyebrow as silent intrigue shifted in his sky-blue eyes. Cataloged the slight change.

If he had a remark about it, he didn't get a chance to speak up as the woman between them beat him to it.

"Fun fact…" Silva started, a smile lighting up her face as her tail swished again. "Ricmorn has a matching bracelet, too. One I made of rose and clear quartz beads with small silver disc-like spacers between them."

"Ricmorn has a matching bracelet, too. One I made of rose and clear quartz beads with small silver disc-like spacers between them."

Clear quartz, because it reminded her of the color of his hair, his porcelain skin, and the ornate healer robes he wore. It reminded her of the time Ricmorn first kissed her in the snow because she'd never seen it before, and the look of pure wonder on her face touched his heart and caused him to act before thinking. Pink quartz for the way his cheeks would flush when embarrassed. For the times her lipstick stained his lips, skin, collarbone, and the neckline of his clothes.

But she didn't need to say those things aloud. Not when Ricmorn already knew them.

Hien blinked, his gaze shifting between the Auri couple. A soft chuckle escaped him. "Does he now?" he mused. "I don't think I've ever seen him wear it."

"I do, yes. Trust me," Ricmorn said, already raising his right arm and reaching to pull back the long sleeves of his healer robes. His fingers lifted the black and white fabric to reveal a bracelet just as Silva described. Gloved fingertips ran over the smooth white and pink beads, over shiny silver discs with black grooves β€” other than the beads being different colors, their bracelets matched. (Though Silva's technique outmatched the one he made for her. But that mattered little to her.) "'Tis always on, just hidden in plain sight. But I show it off from time to time when it matters." He avoided looking directly at anyone when he continued, a light shade of pink dusting his pale cheeks. "I… also don't like being without it. I don't feel like myself if it's not on or in a pocket where it's safe. The bracelet also helps keep me sane whenever Silv and I have to spend time apart to train with our teachers or when duty demands it."

"Glad it's not just me," Silva said as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "I don't like being the odd one all the time."

"Who says being odd is a terrible thing?"

Excited to get new glasses this weekend!!! It's been a few years, and I'm tired of having to constantly tighten the screw on the right side of my current pair so the lens doesn't pop out πŸ˜…

Digital art of a turtle-koi fish creature with a lily pad and pink lotus flower on its back, mimicking the vague shape of a turtle shell. A small frog rests on their lily pad as drops of water catch on the petals of the lotus flower. A tadpole swims shortly behind them. The background is a greyish blue with swirls and sparkles.

Controller!!! I play XIV primarily on PS5, but even if it was on my PC instead, it would still be played with a controller.

I have small hands, so it's just easier/more comfortable for me than using a mouse and keyboard ;-;

I'm so happy I have a million ideas and thoughts I want to bring to life, but heavens, there's never enough time or hands to make it all appear without some minor sacrifices.

But... they're sacrifices I'm welling to make/have made peace with so I can work on my writing goals/dreams πŸ’œ

Hien stands center frame with his blade in hand, dwarfed by the enormous doors to Doma castle. Within, the palace burns and is in disarray, strewn with damaged magitek, even as the beauty of the architecture remains. Columns wrapped in dragons rise to the ceiling, painted red and teal with gold accents. Large mosaics in white, teal, and gold line the stairs, also adorned with dragons. Stairs rise and rise into the Hall of the Scarlet Swallow. Lanterns and censers hang from the ceiling.
