My #IndieDev #Zelda -like project is progressing well. I just finished creating this 'Bat Soar' mechanic, which allows the player to travel along an easily-customized path. Speed is adjusted to ensure you're not stuck for too long.
Excited to keep expanding!

Dash and Backstep functionality have been added for my #IndieDev project in #Godot! Useful not just for dodging, but traversing, as it allows passing through some objects. All placeholder art right now, but it's going to look great once we move to the art phase!

Spell assignment/unassignment feels so great, now! Sound effects are built, too (obviously not supported in a GIF, so I guess just open and close a book while watching this GIF to get the idea). Crazy what just a little bit of scaling can do.

New #Godot / #GDScript tutorial!
This one focuses on adding 'juice' to a Zelda Heart System, but the principles can be applied to all sorts of elements. Get your hearts beating and flashing in just a few minutes with these instructions!

I've created 'concoctions' for my #GameDev project that each have unique functionalities!
This system is super modular, allowing you to easily create and swap out functions between concoctions. Each function is fully customizable with plenty of options already (and more to come)!

New dev vlog out tomorrow, too!
I've been tackling the inventory system for my #Zeldalike #Godot #GameDev project and realized that the things I want to appear in the inventory aren't items you'll find in the world, so making pickups for them didn't make sense.
To counter this, I created a custom command line interface.
Are you ready for deadly combat? Are you prepared to portray a killer narrative? This promotional image features the backs of cards for a Critical Hit Deck for daggerheart. One half of the cards shows a burning red night while the other is a skeleton wreathed in purple. The daggerheart homebrew logo appears in the center of the cards.
This shows the back of the daggerheart critical hit deck cards.
This promotional image provides details for a daggerheart critical hit deck. It has 51 critical hit cards, 12+ cards per tier of play, and 10 unique conditions.
I've long used Critical Hit cards for my #TTRPG games—they're a fun way to keep combat dynamic and unpredictable while simultaneously rewarding the rare critical hit (for both players AND GMs). Now, I've put together a Critical Hit deck for #Daggerheart!

Gotta shout it out here because it took too much digging around to find such a great tool. Started using codecks.io last night for project management and it is truly fantastic. If you're looking for a good, clean task manager (especially to replace ones that have become useless lately), check it out
It's like AI always says: you're not just [x], you're [y] 🖤
Really proud of this one! If You're a #ttrpg player, consider snagging The Manticore Encounter on #HeartOfDaggers for less than $2! I packed it as full of content as possible.
Really? Deems? Deems needs to be replaced? People don't know the word deems and are unable to look it up if so?
I absolutely despise "clarity" suggestions for writing (automated suggestions, not those generated by humans... at least not as a general rule). The vast majority of these suggestions amount to calling readers stupid, completely changing the intended meaning of the phrase, or both.

Pretty excited about this one (and some other things I'm working on). Pretty fun to convert creatures and rules from the @aen.quest/Scathe RPG to #Daggerheart, and making these adversaries and environments was a welcome break.

The opening animatic for The Rooks of Elzveir TTRPG actual play series is here now, along with a release date for the first episode... it's almost time. 👀

I am once again begging people to realize that the law is words on paper and is not self executing.
"That's illegal" is not and has never been synonymous with "that's impossible" or "that can't be done."
"That's illegal" means "you might get in trouble for that depending on who you are."
printing/painting a creature for a TTRPG session. This griffin was used in Chapter 2 of the upcoming series (Chapter 1 will be available SOMETIME this summer). Just finished running the battle today!

An image a fairy-like creature with a praying mantis-esque head, magenta-gradient insect wings, and dark green skin. It has human-like hair and is holding a human's finger, which it appears to be eating. Text from the tabletop book from which it originates reads: Dracipava Bloodline While unassuming in their size and appearance at first glance, dracipava are astonishingly dangerous. At a moment’s notice, they can swell their heads to incredible size, open their mouths like a blooming flower to reveal their multiple rows of sharp teeth, and devour the head of a stunned victim. Dracipava society in the Weird Domain is quite bizarre, with adult women devouring the heads of the males immediately after mating, a ritual that has always been part of their reproductive process. These fairies are more insect-like than other fairies, with faces like a praying mantis, buzzing dragonfly wings, and clawed hands and feet. Perk: Skull Devour. As a Primary Action, you devour the skull of a Dying creature within 1 Pace of you, killing it instantly if it cannot survive without a head. Gain Excess Hit Points equal to twice the creature’s Size. Perk: Dragonfly Wings. You have small dragonfly wings. Increase your Flying Pace by 3.
Worked hard today just to get to the part of the book layout where I could add art for my favorite boi.

I'm spending the rest of the day writing a fanfic about Vine and TikTok boinking each other in every single way.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOO
to be fair they did used to have an episode of crash course.
Loved Nosferatu. Incredible retelling, great gothic horror, mesmerizingly unsettling.
I then came back home to be reminded that media literacy is as dead as half the town of Wisborg.
What scenes did you miss? What classes did you skip in high school?

...sigh, yeah.
Oh for sure—writing comes so much more naturally. I churned out the text faster than anything, but the design? That's much slower (along with, of course, all the rest of it).
Good luck to you! :)
