Her first monograph is Women Priests, Symbolic Violence and Symbolic Resistance, published by Routledge. Sharon teaches across several subjects including religion and politics, sociology of religion, and religion, peace and conflict.

Her research interests include gender, sexuality & class in relation to religion & she is currently studying the politics of witches & women with a goddess spirituality.
