Book research is its own hobby. I could dig around for books I want to read all day. I could go to a bookstore and look at every spine, every cover, read every synopsis.

I think it’s a little weird that I learned about the Pacific Palisades fire from the account of Buzz McCoy, bass player for My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. He posted a picture of the smoke which he took while sitting in traffic.
