Embarked on new body of works since October last year, returning to collaboration with materials: phenomenology in the objects, their chemical and physical properties to frame a narrative of displacement, deterritorialisation of identity & culture.

Abstract composition of mixed media work on paper. The materials used in marking out the space of the composition is of particular interest here, balancing the intentional, vs the unintentional based on the nature of the medium.

Probably the only work in this body of works on paper tap into our "smart" human nature in the use of materials in our environment, while the forboding atmosphere draws on the unknown long term consequences

Materials exploration with black gesso, graphite and colour pencil. Systematically ruled lines are attempt to reveal the nature of graphite, as is the shaped cardboard (bottle partition) covered in graphite.

Thinking how the journey began with current works on paper. They germinated from an idea of artist's book- we live in one world, yet the disparities of experiences, made available with technology, made the dissonance so much more palpable... the words "parallel collisions" came to mind.
