A ruby-crowned kinglet perched on a thin, thorny branch. The bird has a brilliantly red mohawk atop its head. Its head is otherwise gray and its back is gray, fading into its black wings with yellow and white barring. The bird has a short black beak and black eyes with a white eye-ring. The kinglet's breast and belly are light gray. The background is out-of-focus fall foliage.

Some fall color from this ruby-crowned kinglet who was busy chasing another kinglet.
