Photo of the Alexanderplatz train station, showing a big rounded structure with glass, and red letters spelling ALEXANDERPLATZ. In the background a cloudy, gloomy sky, with the big Berlin TV tower. It looks like the tower is sprouting out of the train station, but it stands behind it.
Arrived in Berlin for the 3rd Young Scientist Cancer Congress.
Hope to see some of you there!

Four people standing in front of an audience in what appears to be a lecture hall. One is talking into a microphone, the other three are each holding a microphone and note cards.
Several dozen people sitting inside a large lecture hall. Most are facing the stage with four people on it, while a presentation is visible on a screen above the stage. Steps are leading away from the camera towards the stage.
Two people with microphones are standing on a stage in what appears to be a lecture hall.
Eight people standing in front of an audience inside a lecture hall. There is a presentation above them and a banner hanging from the ceiling showing the logo of the Max Delbrück Center.
We believe in fostering a community through exchange, dialogue, and mutual respect. 💙
Our "Town Hall Meetings" are a cornerstone of #mdcBerlin's culture. Colleagues from all over the institute come together to share ideas, ask questions, and celebrate progress. Today’s theme: Innovation @ Work

We have developed a new workflow to map whole human organs at single-cell resolution, while integrating spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
We applied this workflow to map precancerous lesions of the fallopian tubes.

White text on a black background: For me, the most inspiring part was seeing how many women are now leading the field of cancer research. I’ve attended conferences before, but this time, it felt different; there was a strong presence of women not just as attendees, but as keynote speakers, session chairs, and award recipients. It made me pause and realize how much the landscape is changing. As a young woman in science, it felt both empowering and motivating. It reminded me that we’re not just contributing, we’re also shaping the future of this field in a real and visible way.
As conference organisers, we just love to receive feedback like this anonymous comment from a trainee at our recent #EACR2025 Congress in Lisbon 😊

🎯 Tumor-derived TGFβ initiated TME remodeling: → iCAFs → macrophage recruitment
💪 Later, myCAFs remodeled ECM & interacted with EMT tumor cells
These niches are conserved in human TNBC PDXs and functionally validated.
📸 Tumor and stromal cells form spatially organized neighborhoods.
Aligning tumors by progression revealed how cell states, signaling, and ECM features remodel dynamically at the tumor–stroma interface.
🐁 Our model develops asynchronous tumors across glands. Using Open-ST and snRNA-seq, we profiled 100+ ducts in situ and treated them as replicates reconstructing tumor evolution from healthy tissue to invasion in native context.
We’re happy to share our new preprint form
