Great setup, love those panniers! I too put up with mediocre cycle parking all the time, it still won't stop me cycling!

www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... brilliant article here from Melissa and Chris Bruntlett. Having visited Paris and Barcelona in the last couple of years I can see the results of the hard work in these cities. Can't wait to see how different Montreal looks now, it was 2011 when I went! ππΆββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ³

Today's haul from the garden centre - everyone carrying cargo today! I think this journey was at least carbon neutral, maybe even carbon positive (especially since it's all downhill on the way home!) π #Oxford #cargobikes #spring #familycycling π²π²π²πΊπ₯

On Tuesday, MPs will consider an amendment to enable local leaders to ban pavement parking in their area. We need you to help us get this amendment on to the Bill.
Ask your MP to agree to Amendment 265 when it's considered on Tuesday: https://bitly.livingstreets.org.uk/4tMU2Uq
It is mindboggling that, in the face of climate change, increasing traffic, gas prices, and *everything else*, the California legislature's highest transpo priority this session is limiting the use of e-bikes.
Genuinely a real possibility of the CA e-bike industry being regulated out of existence.

This week we're visiting Somerset for our Route of the Week - the Strawberry Line π
The 9-mile route is mostly traffic-free, with no steep gradients, making it ideal for family days out or less experienced cyclists.
βStreets for play, streets for freedomβ by @aliceferguson.bsky.social & @timrgill.bsky.social makes the case for a "child lens" on transport policy. Time to prioritise those most impacted yet least considered in planning our streets: Children.

Walking to the grocery store or to school shouldn't require a survival strategy. This is a stunning admission of policy failure.

The bike industry did its job. We now have models for all ages and abilities. It's time for our cities to do their job and build the infrastructure to match.

My local Lidl used to have small trolleys. I knew the contents of the small trolley would fit on my bike but then they got rid of them. Now I have a huge trolley and I'm terrible at judging how much I can carry ππ it's a good job it's not far home and I can coast most of the way! #ebike #Oxford

Brilliant thread here on #EVs
They don't help road danger or congestion and they aren't necessarily that green (depends on your grid carbon factor). Plus fewer cars means less embodied carbon. Better to own fewer cars, drive less and use active or public transport where you can instead. πππΆββοΈπ΄π²ππππ

During COVID, cities successfully reallocated street space from cars to people. We proved it works.
Itβs frustrating how quickly those changes vanished, restoring the oppressive status quo where cars dominate and people are pushed back to the margins.
