I love Discord but the biggest issue for me is that we got rid of public forums for private forums and fractured the web. Communities died for Discord and now the last online third place is about to be gutted too.

What's the deal with marketing on social media for #indiedev now? Everyone is still using old methodologies and it seems like this is no longer the path to success.

Twitter is awful.
Bsky is only devs.
YouTube hardly ever pushes videos.

What's the deal?

I was going to fly to NYC for a job offer early December. I introduced a recruiter to my former colleague. My flight was cancelled, and my job was closed.

Fast forward 3 weeks and the colleague got the job.

Note to self: Being a bridge-builder only works if you’re already on the other side. ☠️
