Some features in Samsung phones are tied to the keyboard, so there is a certain level of lock-in as well

Loving the app. It's a great tool and what the open internet is all about. Thanks for creating something useful in times where I am seeing 200 new "habit trackers" being launched every day ๐
Oof the @surf.social dark mode on mobile is rough. That bottom bar looks weeeeiiiird

Agreed, the platform is more than mature enough to offer everything I need.
I've used the post processing option to translate as well without using any cloud service.
It's not as fast as WhisperFlow or Super Whisper when you use the AI enhanced voice dictation (depends on your setup), but for regular dictation, it is just as fast and just as accurate. I see no difference.
I just tried out handy.computer ,I'm pretty sure it will replace my current need for Superwhisper. This model allows you to fully run offline and if you use Ollama with Gemma4, for instance, it can use a local LLM to enrich your voice dictation like paid subscriptions.
Ironically, the day I cancel Fitbit premium I get the new UI.
The fact that some devices are aren't forced to use USB-C in the EU allows Phillips for instance to get away with this attrocity:
Lol this is hilarious
Any suggestions for buds that read my messages automatically like these do?
#pixelbudspro2
I love my Pixel Buds Pro 2, but this is the 4th replacement in less than 2 years. It's always the right earbud acting up. First I had multiple buds where ANC was broken and blasting bass in my ear (3 pairs had this issue) and now the speaker in the right bud is so quiet k can barely hear anything.
The top chart of the Play Store is wild sometimes.
Oof
If I see one more generic protein powder reel, I'm gonna lose it
So what you're saying is that we need to kick devs more for not making better android apps. Gotcha ๐
Kudos to Mehrotra for still going through with the interview, but that's where the praise ends. Holy shit this dude does not get the issue at all. @reckless.bsky.social asked every correct question and the defense was... Well let's hope they have a better defense in court.
About the boring phones in the US: Would you rather have the boring phones you have now, with all the features Google and Apple announce. Or have the EU models (Oppo, honor, Xiaomi, Vivo, etc), but lose access to all the features that are locked to the US like a lot of (useful) AI features?
Uhmmmm latest #pixelwatch update doesn't seem to have gone so well. Wallet stopped working and now I have it
Check the Platinum 3776 soft medium nib. It's amazing.
The Oppo X9 Pro is getting a global launch. That sounds like the OnePlus brand will really die now.
The X9 is a better phone in every regard, but I still feel kinda sad if OnePlus truly goes away. #mwc2026
Sadly doesn't work for me. Hoping this gets fixed soon.
It didn't take too long for Altman to swoop in.
If you plan on buying the Samsung S26 series in the EU, please verify what will and will not work in the EU. Most agentic features will not work just like Google's in the Pixel series.
Also keep in mind only the S26 Ultra has the Snapdragon SoC here, the others use Exynos.
Watching the #galaxyunpacked summary video from @theverge.com and the chapters are something else ๐
Do they have Multipoint this year? Like real multipoint, not only with Samsung devices like the buds 3
Kaweco has a solid selection like the Lilliput or the Special, but the nibs are a bit smaller as well. The Pelican M200 series (I love the striped M215) is also very nice for smaller hands.
Moving Substack to @beehiiv.com was surprisingly easy.
A real android app instead of a PWA would be nice though.
As someone who reads requirements every day, the optimism is unparalleled here.
