Change Grow Live responds to England's women's health strategy with an important reminder: women affected by alcohol are often missed by mainstream services.
Fragmented policy doesn't work - we need joined up approaches that reflect women's lives. True in England, true in Scotland.

Another day, another party manifesto!
This time the SNP, makes clear that there is a lot to do to reduce the harms caused by alcohol. One of the areas they’ve committed to (as Labour did earlier in the week) is piloting hospital-based Alcohol Care Teams, an approach we have been advocating for.

SHAAP is proud to support @alcoholfocus.bsky.social's #AlcoholFreeKids campaign.
We believe children have the right to play, learn and socialise in places that are safe and health, protected from exposure to alcohol marketing.
Pleased to see the @scottishgreens.org manifesto taking a public health approach to alcohol: automatic MUP uprating, marketing restrictions, health labelling and a levy on producers.
Evidence-based policy SHAAP have long stood for.
Good to see Scottish Labour's manifesto committing to alcohol care teams (ACT) in hospitals - something SHAAP, @rcn.org.uk and @rcpsych.bsky.social called for in our Consensus Statement last year.
We'll be holding the next government to account on this.

It's important to remember these harms don't exist in isolation. Neither should our policy responses.
It's time we started to ask serious questions on what role alcohol - a toxic, addictive drug - has in sport.
There is a strange disconnect between Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games announcing a beer brand as an official sponsor, while Glasgow City has THE highest alcohol death rate of all 21 council areas... 🧵
