I'm just about finished with pair 2 for '26 and am not really looking foward to the 4-6 pairs I still have to make this year.
“Books with pictures make reading faster.”
You’ve obviously never read a book on art written by a museum.

"No" is a full sentence.
The problem with this theory is, that there are no wear marks, which making rope would leave and even if it was thread, that too would eventually leave wear marks. And there is perfectly good tool for rope making, which has been known for a long while.
There really isn't many pieces of known nalbinding from Scandinavia during Roman era, the majority of nalbinding finds from Roman era old World are from Egypt and other Mediterranean area (such as Syria), which were part of Roman Empire, but yes, due poor practices, we don't know who wore the socks.
Knitting is a Roman era technology, but it would not make any sense to knit with dodecahedron. While it can be done, the nubbins are very uncomfortable to knit with, and each dodecahedron produces one size of cord, so it doesn't make sense.
While they can be used to make chains and knitting, it has the sensibility of using your latest flagship smartphone to cut your vegetables. You wouldn't need the dodecahedron to work with dowel, and not all of the dodecahedrons have same size holes on opposite sides to use like this.
The earliest finds on knitting are from Roman era, two finds from Eastern Desert of Egypt, dated by find layer etc. to 1st-3rd C, and oldest C-14 dated piece is of end 5th to late 6th C. These all have open loop structure, which can't be done with nalbinding.
While you can knit with a dodecahedron, there are major issues with the glove theory, one of them being the 5 pegs of dodecahedron's side. None of the yarns we see from Roman era are the size that it would produce a finger for a glove. You would need much more pegs for any known Roman yarn.
End of previous piece, with few rows of jewel toned greens and purples on every other ridge and blues, purples and yellows on every other ridge at the top of it.
And since I had the halfen hour to spare, I started the piece number 7. Managed to work all 14g of it (it should weight about 90g when done, if as similar as pattern sounds like to piece 3).
Bringing the total of the Easter knitting to 2641,6m or 1016g.
A very long (or wide) piece of knitting on white blanket. Two first yarns are shades of teal, the third is greener.
Piece number 6 was finished about 30 minutes to spare for the marathon. It took 317g, which translates into 824,2m.
Combined usage 2605,2m, or 1002g of 6-ply yarns.
The monster of a piece (also known as 5) is done. It took 284g of various 6-ply leftovers, I believe some of which I have inherited even. Combined usage 1781m
A green-ish triangle combined to previously shown blue-green piece and purple-green piece.
Fourth piece done. 67g of Novita Nalle Taika.
Current standing of usage is 1042,6m
A hot pink and varigated lilac triangle on white blanket.
Third piece finished. 90g of Novita Nalle and Nalle Colori. The later is bought in '05 or '06. I made my first cable socks of the Colori in early '07.
Combined usage: 868,4m
A start of blanket, the left side piece has greens, greys, pinks and purples, the larger right side piece has turqoises, light greens and light blues.
Second piece done, it took 158g of yarn, hand dyed Novita Nalle Taika, Schachenmayr Regia Fantastico and after the 140g of this ran out; Novita Nalle Colori, a yarn I bought in '05 or '06.
Combined usage of 1 & 2 is 634,4m
Of course 🤷♀️
First piece done, along with a 2am fire alarm, 6 loads of laundry, and all of 86g of yarns used, that's about 223,6m of yarn. My original 2, plus Novita Nalle Four Seasons, which I crocheted a blanket to my Mom in... '12 and Schachenmayr Regia 6-ply, which I knitted socks to my cousin-in-law in '20.
AAAAANNNDD it is time for first correction: I did the math with the value of 130m/100g, but 130m is actually the value of **50g** and thus, the actual number should have been 260m/100g, as 6-plies tend to average around, so 2,6x32g is actually 83,2m for the first hour.
Now 😴😴😴😴
A garter stitch block of knitting in greens, greys, pinks and purples on white blanket. Two about fist size balls of yarn are above the knitting and both are already collapsed. The left edge has a blue dice stitch marker.
First hour and 41,2 meters (or 32 grams) knitted. The left ball is Novita Nalle Taika, yarn I knitted a pair of socks last year of, and the right one is Schoeller Stahl Fortissima colour, and I believe, this turned into socks to my cousin in early '20.
Large-ish (7mm), empty circular knitting needles (Knit Pro Spectra Clear with Knit Pro purple cable) on gray fabric.

A gold colour naivistic Maria Orans, painted as poor presentation of the jewelry plate found in Kaukola Kekomäki, grave 6, it is one of the oldest known presentations of the Holy Mother found in Finland. Acryllic paint and too big brush didn't do any honor to the original. Picture painted on very light grey and sides painted with bronze colour.
