A few more modifications and a slightly better presentation for this furry little guy made in #b3d. #Blender3D has so many little nooks & crannies you can get lost in.
Taking a temporary break from working on my recent rabbit character (he needs clothing) to continue experimenting with different #b3d hair techniques on another character since there's more hair stuff in #blender3d I want to learn.
You think you're getting the hang of something, but then a few days later you realize that was rubbish. But now...now you're getting the hang of it. Hair in #b3d. Still frustrating, but slightly more fun. Progress.
My first experience working with fur in #blender3d has been equal parts fun & frustrating. Nothing here is finished (inc the sculpt), but after literal days of messing around, I'm finally making headway & figuring out the #b3d quirks & solutions to them.
#b3d donations spiked recently due to their campaign. I suspect they'd spike further if people were personally invested in seeing specific features get developed. I'd certainly feel inclined to spread awareness of a campaign if I was assured my investment & promotion would yield benefits I sought.
Thing is, they say it's a lack of resources/team size prohibiting #b3d from working on texture layers, but I have a strong suspicion they'd get donation aplenty if they simply stated what they needed to make texture dev happen. I know I'd make an extra donation if I knew it'd go towards that.
Well deserved! 🙌
To get into #blender3d new sculpting tools, I've been intermittently modeling a jacked rabbit. Still needs tweaking, but fur and clothing (fighter or blacksmith, maybe) will likely hide a lot. I may just take a shortcut in that direction. Plus, I'm looking forward to playing with #b3d fur & cloth!
In anticipation of testing out #Blender3d updated sculpting tools, I've been tweaking my base mesh to get different character forms. Early stages, but I think making digitigrades look balanced might be tricky.
Looking forward to sculpting in #b3d.
Same. It's why I try to devote 3-4 months of my year to it! It's like the great "reset/refresh" button.
Here's another ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #blender3d addon I recently acquired that's immediately become an essential part of my #b3d experience. Less than $2 on BM & GR and well worth it.

Reporting #blender3d bugs is easy when you know where to look.
You can help make #b3d better for everyone by reporting any issues you have and not waiting for others to do it for you.

A few more test renders from my #blender3d procedural planet experiments.
Getting a better grasp on things & learning lots! Especially how easy it is to break the illusion of proper scale when you design things procedurally at a planetary scale.
Lots of #b3d fun though!
A few more flawed, but interesting test renders from my recent exploration into procedural planets made in #blender3d
Still working on everything except the atmosphere, which I'm pretty content with. Can you believe this is just a 2m sphere?
Some more experimenting in the #blender3d procedural planet rabbit hole.
Running into plenty of issues, but pleased with progress. I love this kind of stuff because it prompts so much learning in order to overcome issues in #b3d

Does anybody here like big robots? Here's a test animation from a few years back of the Titanfall Atlas rendered in #b3d . I remember this was before Eevee supported motion blur, so I used an add-on to fake it.
Procedural planet in Blender
Recently jumped down a procedural planet making rabbit hole in #blender3d (applying a combination of different techniques I've seen by others) resulting in this first pass.
Still lots of fun technical & artistic issues to overcome here, but I figured I'd start sharing my progress.
Working in real-world scale in #blender3d matters and so do #b3d's defaults. Here are just a few places where it's important to pay attention to scale. #blendertip

💡In #blender3d Control+L will copy ALL modifiers from one object to selected objects. But did you know that you can...
Copy a single modifier in #b3d by using the dropdown menu in the modifier panel of the active object you want to copy to other selected objects. #blendertip
With this super simple Geometry Nodes setup you can simulate weathering streaks on your mesh using "rain" particles.
This is a bit dressed-down, you can spice it up with some random values per particle for example.

I'm officially back from "Adventure Season" (when I disappear into nature for a few months each year).
💡 In the time I was gone, one of my favorite ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ free & essential #blender3d addons evolved & has a new name
VF AutoSave Render is now Launch Render Kit

Oh for sure. Know the rules and have a system. Then you can deliberately deviate from both when you have a solid reason for doing so and you know why you're getting the results you're getting. 😊
💡Be mindful of occasional inconsistencies with regard to UI/input precision in #Blender3d
For example, cell fracture extension reads "0.00" for the margin, but it isn't actually "zero", it's "0.001" & not visible until you click it.
For those who work at real world scale it matters.
💡 If you're frequently opening #Blender3D files without loading the UI (often other people's files), did you know that "Load UI" is a default setting you can turn off in #b3d preferences? #blendertip
💡Did you know that you can easily add objects, modifiers, geometry nodes, and shader nodes in #blender3d by typing the first letter of each word in the search field to quickly bring up matching items. #blendertip #b3d
