A calm lake bordered by tall pine and hardwood trees under a soft blue sky with scattered clouds. Sunlight reflects off gentle ripples across the water. In the foreground, small white wildflowers and grass line the shore, slightly out of focus, framing the peaceful scene.

Adorable!
The earth is beautiful and wise, my friend. π
For those wondering, this is an area where dolphins strand feed but since it was alone, the hunting felt a bit different. Also, I wasn't chasing the dolphin; I stood still and it was happening all around me. There was also a Finetooth shark hunting, but that's another story for another story. π
A Bottlenose dolphin is arched fully out of the water, head to the left and tail to the right, and looks almost completely black. You can't see its head because it is feeding on fish on the sandy shore and is sprayed with water. The water is light blue and gray. The shoreline is to the left and bottom.
In honor of Earth Day, here's one of my favorite pictures, probably because it is one of my favorite experiences. I watched a lone dolphin hunting in the inlet, chasing fish up out of the water and pushing them onto the shore. It lasted maybe 20 minutes but felt like hours. So cool! π¬πππ¦

Yeah, I do love seeing all of the amazing wildlife that everyone posts here. It's important not to take it for granted because while it may be just another day for one person, many others have never had the experience. Bsky is my favorite nature show. π
Haha! Shorty is tough as nails! Sir Purr is lots like that. Even at 17 years of age, when I let Sir Purr outside for a bit in the morning, the neighbor's cats stop and let Sir him pass without saying a word.
Agree! I would want them to hang around all year!
Shorty has big cat panther energy. π

Sometimes it's hard to let go! π
Well that's even more fun! Cool! π
Is that Big Boi Jr staring straight into the camera?
The word "Earth Day" is spelled out from satellite images. It looks like first letter is swirling water. Second letter is a river that looks like the letter 'A' amongst green and brown fields. Third image snowcapped mountains. Fourth image is a brown desert. Fifth image seems to be a rocky tan mountain with green on the left. Sixth image is a little island surrounded by blue water. Seventh image is snow down a mountain in all directions with brown and green below. Eighth image is a blue river surrounded by green fields.
I used "EarthDay" for this image. Neat!
Happy Earth Day!
Just for fun, you can enter a word on NASA's website and it will generate an image of that word using archived satellite images. Enjoy! π

Poured acrylic paint on canvas. Various shades of purple are poured on a white paint background creating swirls of color.

Love this!
Stars sparkle in a night sky. At the bottom of the photo is a line of oak trees. At the top and just to the right is an overhanging tree limb with the camera flash lighting it up.
I was out early hoping to see a few meteors from the Lyrid meteor shower this morning. I definitely saw one and may have snapped a photo of this one here. It could just be a passing satellite too (since the shutter is open for a few secs). Either way, it was fun to sit and stare at a starry sky. π

It's ok Ziti. If I could still stretch like that without pulling something, I'd sit like that too!
Thank you! That would be awesome!
So cute. I canβt imagine how adorable the chicks are.
Thatβs a meaty buggy snack! These are great photos.
Congrats! Excellent shot!
A large brown eagle with a white head and yellow hooked beak perches up high in a tall pine tree. S/he faces the camera but is looking off to the left giving a good facial profile. We can see a hint of her yellow talons wrapped around the tree branch. Also, a random bare branch sticks up over her chest to ruin an otherwise fairly clean shot.
I was finally able to get a shot of a bald eagle last week in Brooklyn! It only took me yearsβ¦. And still #Sticks π¬
