Feels like a 3-act in the making, for those who make pies during holidays. #iteachmath

Everything is relative :) 40 degree mornings are more than my SD blood can take. (And my former IA self would totally be making fun of me)

Yesterday, two colleagues were talking about heated car seats being a game changer. And today, 7 years after getting my car, I finally tried them out and have to agree.

Here's to trying things that have been right in front of us all along, just waiting to change our lives.

Today we tested out "outrangeous" from Math Games with Bad Drawings (Ben Orlin) and were not disappointed! The questions folks came up, the cheers and collaboration - all so very worth it. Not sure what the equivalent #iteachmath rating is to 2 thumbs up, but it totally gets whatever that is!

Have you seen Ben Orlin's Math for English Majors? He parallels all of math with parts of grammar and language, and has some thoughts on this.

I think conferences can be fun to attend, but if you want to amp up the PL, plan to present a session. I've found it's the greatest stretch opportunity and a place for supportive feedback. And #cmcmath south is the perfect place to do it - apply by 4/7 cmc-south.org/conference. #MTBoS

But specifically what you're looking for - you might try searching @camathcouncil ...that pulled up some for me

Hey Rachel - I have a group trying this on in a middle school, too. They are collecting some data, surveys, etc. Not sure if that's useful for your team and/or you're interested in collaboration.

Got caught in a convo w/ Geo teacher today - proofs are still top of mind, not necessarily style so much as how to help students to realize when they've said/shown enough (or not) to actually prove something. That seems like a shift in the convo. Others hearing same/different?? #iTeachMath

I LOVE chatting geometry, but I'm not in the classroom currently. Seems like the community here is still small and growing, but if there's something you need - always happy to amplify or ask beyond here and report back
