Hi there #iTeachMath folks.
Need probability help: If 1 snack jar has 12 cookies & 6 pretzels, 2nd jar has 9 cookies & 8 pretzels, if I choose 1 item, what is P(pretzel)??
Is it (1/2)(6/18) + (1/2)(8/17) bc have to choose jar before item?
Or (6+8)/(18+17) bc pretzel/total? seems wrong bc not 1 jar

Puzzle #1
The isosceles trapezoid/trapezium is composed of seven matchsticks.
Modify the position of three matchsticks to get two equilateral triangles.

We had a lot of #mathisfun at the Chapel Hill #mathCircle for 1st-3rd graders looking at circle constructions. One boy whom I picked to be a ‘tree’ coincidentally had green shirt and tan pants, fitting the role as another held a string and walked around him, forming a circle. #mtbos #iteachmath
