Dude I wish I could be chill about my interests

Not new but I am currently listening to Emily Tesh’s ‘The Incandescent’ and I’m enjoying it a lot! Both SFF and Gay!!

Not me immediately panicking because “oh wait is that even out yet?? No? Ahhh”

Maybe I stopped writing for my own survival because I can’t be doing this staying up past 4am bullshit when I work 7 days a week

The dopamine hit I get when I send a song I like to a friend and they say “yeah, that’s a you song for sure.”

Nothing pisses me off more than a review that’s like “I didn’t get it, one star” like shut uuuuup, you’re ruining the system.

Like if I read a book that confuses me or I don’t understand it and have a bad time, that’s my own fault, not the book or the authors. So I’m not going to rate that book because I’m not a credible source on whether it was good or not because I didn’t understand it.

Hot take: normalize not rating books/movies if you don’t understand them. Like, it’s not necessarily bad, you might just be stupid and it’s not for you. Which, no shame, that’s totally fine.

I really don’t have the time to reignite my passion for writing. I JUST got back into more consistently working on/improving my art and reading for leisure/reviews 😭

I was fine and chill until the last TWO PARAGRAPHS of the EPILOGUE.

I just finished book two of The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks and if I had been reading them at time of publishing I think I would have burned a whole city down to the ground at that diabolical cliffhanger. I’m mad and I have the third book, what the fuck was that, Brent??? On site.
