Five years ago today. Here's #GSD Wylie, my very last service dog trainee... one of the real-life dogs behind the fictional story in my new book, "Shepherds of our Hearts." (www.amazon.com/Shepherds-Ou...). Shared with the owner's full approval--he loves for people to see his dog.
Two dogs are on a game show stage, standing on either side of a pedestal case that has a carrot squeaky toy with a glass lid over it. Off to the side, there's a digital sign with the number 6 displayed. The game show host is saying to the contestant, "When I lift the lid, you have SIX SECONDS to, well, you know what to do." There's a big sign on the stage with the game show's name: "Destroy That Toy!"

I might have to start posting a nightly #GermanShepherd photo until I succeed in finding all my people. This is "Thunder," who was born to two of my own dogs a long time ago. He was a drive fireball & worked with a SAR team in Georgia until age 11. This photo was from his early team training.
