A black and white photo of Einsteinโ€™s desk, blackboard, and bookshelves after he passed away. Journals, magazine, and papers are strewn over the desk and shelves. A few of the shelves are organized, but mostly they contain haphazard, listing stacks that seem like they could fall over at any moment. The desk is a beautiful disaster, with papers and journals covering every inch. A pot for tobacco, a small glass jar, and Einsteinโ€™s pipe sit near the middle. The dark leather chair is pushed back slightly from the desk. The blackboard is sectioned off into several different regions, each of which contains one or more boxed formulas from whatever Einstein was working on when he fell ill.

Albert Einstein passed away #OTD in 1955 due to complications from a ruptured abdominal aneurysm.

Doctors recommended surgical intervention but Einstein declined, saying โ€œI have done my share; it is time to go. I will do it elegantly."

Here is his office as he left it. ๐Ÿงช โš›๏ธ

Gosh, I'd love that. Maybe Paul & I could both come down?

I'm good with mints. I have lots of different types in the garden. Maybe not have too much then. โ˜บ๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ

Could point. I've used coconut oil before - holistic flea treatment for my old cat. โ˜บ๏ธ

Gosh, is there a word for the 2nd year of biennials? I'll have to research that one. โ˜บ๏ธYes, GM's love moisture & as the winter was really wet, they're having a fab year. I've had larvae that have been predated, lots of eggs, one pupae that didn't survive. I'm like you - hoping for lots of OT's too.

Did u know? Don't weed your *weeds*, just enjoy the wildlife that having them attracts, like this floofy, gingery Carder bee foraging on these beautiful White Dead Nettles (Lamium alba) They're free, they're prolific, they're wildlife-friendly & they're native to ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง - such a win-win. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿชฒ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿชฐ

Yes, *weeds* are tough survivors who refuse to let man subdue them. I love them for this...

How wonderful. They look like sentinels.... ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿธ

Oh my word! You're so lucky. I don't think I've EVER heard one cuckoo, or not that I can recall. How wonderful for you....

That's such a shame. I wish your neighbours would go easy on you....๐Ÿ˜‘

This all sounds lovely. A semi wild lawn. Creating no-mow meadows from my lawns was one of the best changes I ever made to my outside space. I just love them.

That's great advice - just the leaves? Would grapeseed oil be ok as a carrier oil?

It's a fab realisation, isn't it. Everything in your outside space becomes valuable & nothing goes to waste....& hardly any tip-trips - yahoo!

I hadn't thought of that. I love buddleias, but I don't want one by my pond edging. ๐Ÿซฃ I'll keep an eye on them. Thanks so much for pointing that out.

Did u know? Gardens are great places to re-use, upcycle, recycle, or repurpose. This pallet arrived as part of packing for a stove. With a bit of imagination & tinkering from my hubs, it became my new potting-up bench. Always wanted one....so chuffed. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒ

Apologies for the wind sound, but can you hear him? My first Cuckoo of the year... WOOHOO!!!

I followed his call till I saw him calling from a tree for a split second - before he was chased away across the moor by a couple of worried Meadow Pipits...

Oh my word. So haunting. Do you get them every year Brigit?

200% correct. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŒฟ

Someone else said this too. I'm really interested in wild foraging too. Great to know. I must do a bit of research on this. Thanks for sharing..๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒฟ

Not sure if it's native to you. It's Spotted Dead Nettle or Lamium maculatum. A beautiful plant that attracts so much wildlife into my wildlife garden, as do all the Dead Nettle family.
