Have you looked at the UK Inquiry Report No3 ? It didn’t go as far as mandating masks but it recommended use of Hepa filters and had quite a lot to say about IPC. You probably already know this but in case you don’t it’s all on the inquiry website.

This should be a mandatory test for wannabe politicians.

Put them on front of a class of 4 year olds and see if they inspire them.

The politicians inspiring the children.

But more importantly the children inspiring the politician.

Flu spreads efficiently especially in close quarters like military troop lodging facilities. If you are in the military you are required to get several vaccines because of how devastating outbreaks can be to troops and also because they are more likely be targeted by agents of biological warfare.

we should shift focus to protecting this population, as well as the legacy effects of the waves to date).
The latter may be increasingly showing in clinical data eg x.com/i/status/204... and should prompt and honest reappraisal of the role of viral infections including covid in chronic diseases

However newborns and kids who are not vaccinated are experiencing covid as it first appeared in the post Omi period. Assuming some variants like the 3.2 are more likely for whatever reason to infect kids (a point I will concede now to @solidevidence.bsky.social ) then ....

the increase in the interval between successive infections mean that one gets a longer break to heal and inflammation to cool down. At the same time, the decrease in severity of the acute presentation means less initial damage. Both mechanisms would lead to a ⬇️ incidence & prevalence of #longcovid.

Notwithstanding the uncertainty, the total number of infections are declining with time, so people are getting fewer opportunities to reinfection. If most LC is the result of the acute damage + persistence and secondary immune response to infection as detailed here open.substack.com/pub/christos...

TLDR: Declining chances of Covid reinfections but very young should be vaccinated due to naive immune systems plus new variant risk. (if I’ve understood correctly then it’s glass half full provided vax available to kids - which is not the case in the UK currently).

This should be backed by national guidance, audits, improved building standards, and better information-sharing between settings, alongside incentives for clean air action in schools including ventilation and air quality champions.

All staff should receive annual training on indoor air, monitoring, ventilation, allergies and asthma. Schools should have continuous indoor air monitoring (CO₂, PM2.5, VOCs), clear limits, and risk assessments with proper mitigation or communication where risks remain.

We need enforceable standards for ventilation, filtration, and exposure limits, aligned with public health evidence. No safe threshold for air pollution has been established, so standards must reflect that.

Airborne risks should be recognised as safeguarding issues in all education settings, from early years to university.

This needs a whole-setting approach built into policy, training, and accountability.

This invitation reflects recognition that clean air in schools is essential for safe, equitable education.

It acknowledges that healthy air prevents illness, reduces airborne allergens, contaminants and pollutants, supports attendance and improves pupil achievement.

1/3 Pollutants don't stay in the water. In San Diego, we showed they become a previously unrecognized source of air pollution. Once inhaled, toxic chemicals and airborne pathogens have been linked to cancer, heart attacks, and dementia. As water pollution rises globally, this is everyone's problem.

That’s fantastic that you’ve invested in the classroom air to such an extent. Thank you! my offer to donate a Corsi Rosenthall air filter was refused by our school and windows in healthcare and schools here seem to be shut with almost grim determination - never mind air filtration improvements.

Fred Cuming was considered one of the finest landscape painters of his generation. Much of his work celebrates southern English coastlines; the sea and skies of Hastings, Rye or Camber as here, illuminated by dawn, dusk, or glowing moonlight.

Also awaiting: NHS to acknowledge airborne transmission, ventilate and install air filters in healthcare settings ( as per recommendations in Covid Inquiry report) + to use appropriate PPE. Also for schools to finally start using correct mitigations knowing that Covid isn’t inconsequential in kids.

SARS-CoV-2 sequences submitted today w/age data:

BA.3.2 — 15/17 seqs ages 0-17
non-BA.3.2 — 5/20 seqs ages 0-17

From South Korea & USA, MD.

BA.3.2's propensity for children undeniable at this point. Not sure there's any point belaboring it anymore. Awaiting
