Whatever your politics this is a campaign that we all need to support. It’s heartbreaking and desperately urgent for the women involved. If you share one thing today please make it this🙏

EU: The European Union will require sale of mobile phones with “user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries” starting in 2027.
The regulation demands “availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence”.
I’m really unhappy with how quickly y’all have gotten comfortable using derogatory words again. You were never great, abled leftists and liberals, but I have watched you give up on us in real time.
Feels good to have someone to punch down on.
How hard is it to insult qualities people choose?
As a therapist and a healthcare worker, chatbots are becoming a public health crisis, and I’m tired of hearing people who don’t see the harm every day explain why this is totally fine and just like people pearl-clutching over cellphones. It’s getting worse and we haven’t scratched the surface.
Jeez. Labour MP’s have just voted to give police unprecedented powers to ban recurring protests turning a fundamental freedom into a privilege granted by the state.
No protest movement has ever brought about change through one single march or action. How did it come to this?
Signing up to EU single market rules would be a good thing.
Doing so without a Parliamentary vote would be an electoral gift to Reform and Conservatives. It would be a huge political miscalculation. Better to be persuasive than push it through without one.

Darren Parkinson (@greendarrenshipley.bsky.social) says #LongCovid has “completely devastated” his life. His body feels “poisoned”, the fatigue is 24-7 and overwhelming. He spends most of his time lying down and can only shower once a week.
A 24 year old disabled man died when an airline mishandled him during boarding
They pushed him down the ramp in a chair without safety straps
He fell face first and the assistant fell on top of him
He died of multiple blunt force injuries

Had only two sales this month so if you could check out my shop or ko-fi or boost this, that'd help a lot! thanks

Truer by the day, as the nyt just proved. Public health journalism should always be driven by fact, not a rabid political agenda.
The IOC has announced a trans and intersex athlete ban requiring an invasive SRY genetic test for female athletes.
In the 20+ years trans women were eligible, only one ever competed and none ever medaled. This is solving for a problem that doesn't exist.

High tide on Lough Foyle, with dark, wind-rippled water stretching toward a distant shoreline of low green hills and scattered buildings. Above, a striking, heart-shaped cumulus cloud dominates the sky, bright white against deep blue, with layered clouds gathering along the horizon.
Good morning. When the tide is high at Lough Foyle, the view is so different. The waders fly off to wait for the waters to ease and the sky shows its love. #Ireland #photography #BlueSkyMonday #ECK
This is not just the usual story of a school giving in to right-wing pressure groups. It suggests that the school’s leadership don’t read. They used genAI to categorise books, for fuck’s sake, and you’re not going to believe some of the books they pulled. In a *secondary* school.
Illustration of a clearing in a dark forest with pools of water on the ground among the trees and vegetation. In the water is a reflection of a cityscape with skyscrapers in vibrant orange and yellow with a bright blue sky, contrasting with the murky blue-green colours of the woods. In the far distance an early sunrise can be made out through the trees.
In an ancient forest, shallow pools reflect not the trees above, but a luminous city of elsewhere.

The writing is on the wall. The UK is going to attempt to ban hormones for trans adults. This is just one of the steps they're taking to limit access slowly.

This excellent piece describes the crap that's going on within NHS England in their policy-based evidence-making, asking questions that studies were not set up to answer, then concluding that the absence of evidence means evidence of harm. The damage they're doing to people's lives is immense.
The reviews used to justify this excluded nearly 97% of all studies from inclusion in their analysis. This is an absolutely obscene hatchet job by the NHS specifically created to eliminate access to hormones for trans youth.
Sánchez: “You may have heard that Spain is alone. They’re the same people who said that when we recognized the State of Palestine, and then others followed.
“We are not alone — we are the first. Those who will end up alone are the ones defending the indefensible.”
It is absolutely heart breaking watching years of relationship building, interface and quality monitoring NHS work just recklessly binned (along with many of the staff) by this government for no good reason.
Clip from yesterday’s BBC South report about the #MECFS Alliance event on the future of #MECFS and #LongCOVID research. Sam, an ME patient, says the government failing to fund further research after the success of DecodeME is “absolutely disgraceful”.
Can we stop comparing *any* UK leaders with Churchill please? Thatcher wasn’t Churchill, Boris bloody Johnson wasn’t Churchill, and Keir Starmer wasn’t Churchill.
Even Churchill wasn’t the Churchill everyone imagines.
Just shut up about Churchill.
Thanks for all the kind comments!
I do agree that the Green Party seems to be interviewed with so much more hostility than anyone else.
But you know what - bring it on. 💚

The US and Israel are bombing Iran. Anyone reporting it as “preventive” is engaging in propaganda, by definition. There is no interpretation of what’s happening as anything else than a crime.
You don’t have to like the Iranian regime to understand why this is bad.
