On my way home from an inspiring week spent with maths teachers and educators in South Africa. Thanks to AMESA Congress 2025 for inviting me to be one of your plenary speakers.
Highly topical for me. On my way home from my first ever visit to a free and demicratic South Africa. As an anti-apartheid activist in the eighties, I might have been one of those branded a terrorist.
Invited to Johannesburg to present and discuss ideas from my research with teacher advisors from all nine provinces in South Africa. A privilege to spend time with such an inspiring group of colleagues.
