I got a scholarship from Ham Radio prep to use their course for technician and general. They guarantee you'll pass on the first try and I did! I really really like the style of the program. I'm also using ham radio study to fill in the gaps or when I just feel like I need a change.

I secretly hope they like the stuff that I like but even if they don't, they can learn HOW to enjoy a hobby when those things are hard to do with ADHD. I still might become a merit badge counselor but I'm not sure how Scouts BSA aligns with my morals right now.

That's the best thing about hobbies. I love this stuff. Have ADHD and so do my kids and I'm trying to teach them how to embrace their sudden intense interests in a healthy way. Also teaching them to explore what other people love because they might like it too!
That's what my wife is worried about. I'm going to need another shelf to show off THIS hyperfixation. 🤣

At urgent care with my 8 year old. Kid has a fever of 103.5 and strep. I have pneumonia & an O2 level of 87. We're having a blast.
I've put more effort into studying for my General amateur radio license than I ever put into a class in school. I feel very accomplished. I'm also really struggling with LC Circuits. I'm unsure WHY I need to know about them but by god I will. #amateurradio #hamradio
I keep coming back to analog hobbies. Film photography gives me a negative. Amateur radio gives me a contact thousands of miles away without Internet. There's something irreplaceable about a skill that works even when the internet goes down.

Today in ham radio adventures I studied Ohm's law. P=V x I. Power (Watts) equals volts (v) times Amps (I.) You can use this formula to check which chargers will charge your phone fastest. Volts & amps are printed on every charger. Higher watts means faster charging. Math is neat! #amateurradio
