I’m Penny and have been offering #Supervision to DSLs and headteachers since 2015. Proudly associated with @talkingheadsoak.bsky.social as the lead associate for training supervisors in schools. Passionate about safeguarding children and staff wellbeing going together. A registered social worker
A brilliant session @ascl-uk.bsky.social on supervision for school leaders! @uofgheadship.bsky.social @seralisen.bsky.social @kingsparksec.bsky.social

Really good to have you there. Let me know if you want to follow anything up? Lisa
Fantastic to hear this Lisa. It really helps to have a conversation between supervisors and supervisees about what supervision is and how it benefits the supervisee. For those who missed Lisa in person she has done a great podcast youtu.be/9OGQsOQ6plo?...
If you are properly curious about what is #Supervision and how could it work in schools to support staff, promote everyone’s wellbeing and safeguard children, this is a lovely listen. #EduSky @talkingheadsoak.bsky.social

If you have ever had any curiosity about what difference #Supervision makes to a school leader, this episode of Being the Head answers some of the questions.
@talkingheadsoak.bsky.social and I have been thrilled doing this work alongside Corine. #EduSky
Education secretary Bridget Phillipson announces a new Key Stage 3 Alliance aimed at sharing best practice for teaching students in the early years of secondary #ASCL2026
Thanks to the lovely group that came to mine and Rona Archers conversation about why #supervision has to be part of moving forward together. We talked about impact of regular robust supervision for senior leaders. How it safeguards their wellbeing as well as supporting their role in SG. #ASCL2026
If you aren’t lucky enough to be able to meet Lisa in person she spoke in this interesting podcast released this week youtu.be/9OGQsOQ6plo?...
Simultaneously acknowledging most people working in education still don’t have the space and permission to have a professional conversation about their work, it’s impact on them and opportunity to reflect and learn about their workload. #Supervision
Noticing how far #Supervision has come as a topic of conversation in #Education in that it is increasingly on the education conference timetable, and encouraging anyone who is at the #ASCL conference to go to listen to @talkingheadsoak.bsky.social

Here I am talking about #Supervision (you’d never guess) at last year’s event. @talkingheadsoak.bsky.social Enjoyed and will be back (although not on a stall) still willing to talk all things supervision and the difference it makes in schools #EduSky
Hi #FFBWednesday I’m Penny and working extensively across a range of schools providing #Supervision and also delivering supervision training so schools can expand the reach of supervision. Also very proudly associated with @talkingheadsoak.bsky.social
Wondering whether there are headteachers and senior leaders in your networks who may be interested in this @moremorrow.bsky.social @edfinch.bsky.social @suecowley.bsky.social @ruthswailes.bsky.social @happyheadteacher.bsky.social #EduSky
Thanks Sean. This is such an important message - there are a range of hidden barriers in making books accessible. Enjoying stories and story making is so pivotal to being curious and humane.
@talkingheadsoak.bsky.social @itsmotherswork.bsky.social you will both like this too!
The plan to give all teachers SEND training can’t ‘undo environments that continue to overwhelm, exclude and destabilise the very children they are meant to support’, writes Thomas Keaney, making the case for therapeutic education
We are deeply disappointed to see media leaks this morning suggesting that the Government intends to impose a price cap on special school fees as part of the forthcoming Schools White Paper and SEND reforms. ⬇️

SEND/EHCP is a nightmare for people bc it's hard to have a trusting relationship with the LA. You're trying to get your kids' needs met, & LA has no money. There's a big power imbalance & you feel vulnerable. There's so little provision, & the LA resists funding private. The whole thing is a battle.
Delighted with how well the training is being received. The ‘setting the scene’ course I delivered yesterday received 5* (out of 5*). Take a look at the website if you work in #Schools and want to know more about #Supervision #EduSky and please ask Lisa and me any questions you have.
Fantastic that the 4hr "Setting the Scene" workshop with @supervisionmatters.bsky.social was so well received yesterday.
Thinking about how to embed supervision in your setting? Across your MAT? We have over 7 years experience of doing this. It's complex but utterly fantastic for staff/children/YP
The call for supervision in schools is getting louder! @talkingheadsoak.bsky.social

This podcast remains one of my favourites in explaining how #Supervision supports #Safeguarding in #Schools. How simply finding an hour’s thinking space , 3 times a term, restores school leaders to their sense of purpose and helps them feel reenergised and heard. @talkingheadsoak.bsky.social
Thanks @supervisionmatters.bsky.social
That regularity is so key...noone takes themselves to someone in any vulnerability with whom they don't have a solid relationship. Even then it is hard!
