It's pretty obvious that the disincentives for hitting a bridge and delaying hundreds of rail passengers are not large enough. Pretty sure I've seen people asking larnród Éireann about this in the past and they're less-than-definite about whether or not they pursue companies for compensation.

I’ve be involved in various capacities in counter disinformation and counter hate speech activity on Irish online spaces for over 8 years.
I have never witness anything as bad as the abuse directed at Senator Eileen Flynn… it’s gamergate levels of targeted & coordinated harassment.
Bull f*cking shit
Only thing Ireland is full of is empty homes
We have over 160,000 vacant homes & around 20,000 derelict homes
State sponsored vandalism & violence

Pretty sure they just said "these Nazis are a bit coarse but I'm prepared to pretend I didn't hear their views on racial purity because they're less irritating than the left".
I'm a bit torn about the inclusion of bass players since I have a big list.....
For six strings, mine would be
Malcolm Young
Grant Green
João Gilberto
Jesus, that's bleak.
It does work because we had a councillor here not that long ago spending a lot of time and energy trying to get some wands removed so that motorists could once again intrude into a bike lane.
See, we can have all the active transport infrastructure in the world, but unless attitudes change this shit will keep happening.
It is actually remarkable that we had two weeks of serious social unrest about energy and fuel prices and yet, I don’t think I saw or heard anything about “Data Centres” from any protest organiser or in their demands to the government.
To be fair they chose a great photo to accompany his remarks
It makes logical sense if you're a transport minister or senior exec in transport agency, never use public transport yourself and you're wedded to the ideology that, unlike roads, public transport has to be profitable.
Or, more from the "looks like we have our massive new road so we can stop pretending that we're committed to improving public transport in tandem" city.
More from the "no traffic problems whatsoever so we don't need decent public transport" city....

The road will quickly be flanked by low density housing estates, business parks and shopping, with nothing resembling a functional public transport system to take people between these and other places they want/need to visit.
That's worse than*not* knowing what it was....
“Only in Micheál Martin’s mind is this unashamed unpreparedness an excuse, rather than its own failing. Not only a failing, but perhaps the failing that precipitates all others.”
This week’s column.
Interesting how it entered/remained in hiberno-English and not in other dialects.
It's a great expression and it never occurred to me to look up the etymology until just now....
Haha, exactly!
Doesn't seem to be much of a correlation between ministers' job titles and competence/experience/interests. Sometimes the stars align but it mostly seems more about status or internal government politics.
Be fair - I'm sure they spent several minutes on Facebook researching the evidence around cyclists' safety

I'm not an Apple fanboy by any stretch, but I like my mouse. The charging port on the bottom is a bit weird but the battery lasts for ages (months) so I don't find this to be an issue. Having said that, on my own PC at home I have a cheap generic mouse which is just as good....
Also, not wanting to date gobshites doesn't really make you "angry" does it?
It's so revealing that these guys are seemingly devoid of any culture - it feels like they only know about the references that the rest of us grew up with via some meme that they saw somewhere.
Ah, the number 19 bus to Routemaster (which must be the new name for Finsbury Park).
Ministers and most govt TDs are incapable of seeing that public transport is the solution because they (and people they know) never use it.
The above being based on the statements from the road's supporters that it will remove cars from the city and not increase carbon emissions. If that is to be achieved, people need incentives to reduce usage and ownership of cars.

There's a long list but fundamentally anybody on the team who wants feedback needs to ask themselves "what can we do to make it significantly less likely that people will need a car to get to work, visit somebody, drop the kids to school/training".
