This cover is a beautiful ending of one of life's adventures from which you and your colleagues grow so much, at all levels !

Conclusion : time and failures are perfect food for success

We then faced the 🎢 of scientific publishing but were again galvanized by failures. We fought and benefited from the understanding of editors and reviewers in a constructive and productive discussion.

The project was then beautifully taken over by Valentin Gensbittel and @naelosmani.bsky.social in the lab, based on the previous work of many in the lab and the help of many many many people.

Intense brainstorming with the brilliant mind of Jochen Guck (I miss him so much). Luckily, Ligue contre le cancer and many others took over and allowed use to pursue some preliminary data obtained in the lab.

Some context 💡 : It all started with a simple concept & question and during a sabbatical at @garvaninstitute.bsky.social (awesome opportunity for scientists to actually do science) where I drafted a later-failed European Research Council (ERC) proposal.

Tumor cell in the maze of the lung vasculature in a mouse.

Tumor cell in the maze of the lung vasculature in a mouse.

A #research team investigated how the mechanical properties of tumor cells influence their metastatic pathway.
🔑 🔍: Viscosity – rather than elasticity – determines how tumor cells invade surrounding tissue.

New study finds cancer spread driven by how “thick” tumour cells are

New study finds cancer spread driven by how “thick” tumour cells are

🧬 New study in Nature finds cancer spread depends on how “thick” tumour cells are. Higher cell viscosity helps them survive blood flow and escape into new tissues - a key step in metastasis. 🔬 www.nature.com/artic... #CancerResearch #Science #Health
