It’s nearly 23 years since the last flight of #Concorde, from Heathrow to her birthplace at Filton, Bristol. I was working for Airbus at the time and was privileged to witness her arrival. It represented a rare regressive technological step - for now, the joy of 3hr Atlantic crossings were over.

#WingsOnWednesday
(well, rotary-winged, at least 😁)

The #Boeing AH-64E #Apache has to be the meanest looking aircraft in the skies today. You really wouldn’t want to be looking down any of the many barrels carried by this bruiser.

You don’t get to see these often nowadays, even though nearly 1,000 were built. That distinctive v-shaped tail could only be from a gorgeous Fouga CM.170R #Magister, a French 1950s twin-seat jet trainer.

It’s surprisingly noisy. Is there something rattling like a loose panel in that cab or is it always like this?

Or in her case, “I”. Twice.

I think he probably started off in ‘97 as quite an idealistic liberal but he’s certainly evolved into the same self-entitled, rich prick as the rest of them, with the looks and morals of a Bond villain, to boot

Err, no. Try Camden Town.

Any info on what the test results were, how it performed and compared?

Or I could just pony up the cash and send it away to get done. Never seems to be today’s priority though.

Mine varies slightly at different focal lengths. I have a single adjustment in the camera body but sooner or later I’m going to have to get the dock out and do it properly with the Sigma app. I’ve been putting it off as it’s very dull and time consuming but I suppose it’ll be worth it once it’s done

Grey tree rat at the bottom of my garden on Thursday. My airshow lens is back-focussing again, which is a bit of a pain.

...this golden side shows a tiger scheme. A red stripe dividing both schemes completes the flag.

For some reason, this side does make me think of the lucky-cat-with-waving-paw that can be found in many asian restaurants :-) Which side do you prefer? (2/2)

Another angle. Two engines next to one another. Carbon blades with an aluminium core, where the composite material has burned away and the core remains. Definitely one of the Hercs.

Isn’t this the wreckage of the C-130s that were scuttled by US Forces after getting bogged down in the sand? That looks like a turboprop blade.

Poor take. Teaching someone entitled and lazy at an early age that the world doesn’t exist purely to serve them, is a public service.
