Concorde 216 (G-BOAF) is pushed back into Filton’s Brabazon Hanger complex where she was assembled, on 26 November 2003. She had arrived from Heathrow to become a museum exhibit. It was the last time she would ever fly, and her’s was the last flight of any Concorde anywhere in the world. Her systems were shut down and her fluids drained, and she passed into history.
It’s nearly 23 years since the last flight of #Concorde, from Heathrow to her birthplace at Filton, Bristol. I was working for Airbus at the time and was privileged to witness her arrival. It represented a rare regressive technological step - for now, the joy of 3hr Atlantic crossings were over.
