A photo of a wild Otter, foraging for food in a local river. The Eurasian Otter had declined across its range in the second half of the 20th century, primarily due to pollution and pesticides. Other threats included habitat loss and hunting, both legal and illegal. But, Otter populations are now recovering in many parts of Europe. In the United Kingdom the number of sites with an Otter presence increased 55% between 1994 and 2002. In 2011, the Environment Agency announced that otters had returned to every county in England.

A butterfly with reddish wings and large light coloured eye spots in its forewings, and dark eye spots on its hindwings is resting on a dense cluster of white blossom. It's facing upwards, and its antennae are clearly visible. The background is a kind of dreamy blurred range of whites and light grey.
