This is more of a visceral and anecdotal observation about our political culture.
As a New Yorker, I often observed embarrassment rather than moral outrage at NYPD scandals for abusing people of color.
I observed more of the same when George Floyd was murdered by police in Minnesota.
Since it got seriously chilly here today in Minnesota, I decided to make a tater tot hotdish. It’s so annoying though as someone with celiac disease—I hate the taste of gluten free cream of [whatever] soups—so I make my own béchamel sauce instead. This kind of defeats the desired ease of a hotdish.
