So, Park Police did this. They were hi-speed chasing someone who was ON FOOT and they rammed into a civilian vehicle absolutely destroying it, crashing through a stop sign, another parked car, over the sidewalk, through a home's fence and retaining wall and into their front yard. At 13th & MD NE.

Being into cats feels so debasing. You give everything over to this animal — time, labor, money — but when you want them to sit next to you, they refuse and jump away. When they finally sit on your lap, you sit motionless to the point of physical pain, afraid to disturb them. Humiliating.

Hard to tell by street view alone, but blocked sidewalks can be a HUGE problem here, which is why the corral was expanded.

Here's one example in my neighborhood via street view. There's a demand for on street corrals here bc of geofencing and workers who commute with shared bikes/scooters. You can toggle past street views to see the growth.

D.C.’s speed cameras are catching super violators. Most have Va. and Md. tags. A lack of cross-border cooperation with Virginia and Maryland has allowed habitual speeders from those areas to get away with thousands of dollars in unpaid fines.

Today, thanks to CM Allen's STEER Act, the driver who hit her has been held accountable in court.

Thank you!! This felt impossible only a few years ago. Grateful for your leadership in listening to victims and their families, then creating and funding a framework to meaningfully address reckless driving. And so grateful for @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social and staff for following through.

That's helpful and I would love that for us. But there's a lack of transparency or messaging of how the funds are specifically being used in DC, which furthers the suspicion and current narrative about ATE. So many ways to improve and for DC to do better.

NEW: We secured five new settlements and won nine new court judgments against out-of-state repeat dangerous drivers.

Together, they will be required to pay $531,192.

We also filed five new STEER Act lawsuits — including one against a driver who single-handedly racked up $284,550 in violations.

Cameras only issue tickets when drivers are going 10+ mph over the posted speed limit. The solution is to reinvest the funds back into street safety, e.g., a safe street redesign at that specific location.

The current Mayor has made it her choice to sweep the funds into the general fund instead. 👎

This came before the ANC in late 2023. We supported a BZA case to allow for a bank to be there. Not sure why that hasn't materialized. I know a bank isn't exciting but that was the best lead they had.
