To work with scumbags you need a scumbag. Inevitable consequence of unmooring ourselves in 2016 and having to seek safe harbour wherever possible. Interesting to see if vetting prob was less Epstein links and more Deripaska-related. In which case Tories should beware what they wish for...

Donald Trump is acting like a Mafia boss running a protection racket. "Nice trade deal you got there. Shame if something happened to it."

This must be the final straw. We can't reward Trump with a state visit from our King.

A group of whistling ducks at Slimbridge nature reserve incredibly colourful, brown, amber, black and red. This one is focused on me taking its photo. I seem to have that effect where they kindly pose. Well, so I would like to believe!

Some amazing work on #BlueSky by incredible creatives. Have shared a selection, go seek. Taking a short break to embrace nature and restore my equilibrium. In the meantime, have you ever heard a duck whistle? Stay safe x

Trump's last act of economic damage will be triggering worldwide celebrations so massive when he ultimately dies that the hangover that follows will have a measurable negative impact on GDP.

That on its own should be enough. It fixes a lot of problems for the UK, brings it back into Europe's orbit firmly, and allows time for new decisions.

Pudding, chips, peas, and gravy; heaven! Yes, I grew up on the north western edge of Salford.

A new gosling makes an appearance in the local park. That tells me there must be more further afield. Time to explore!

I had wondered whether AI created the target coordinates but thought, "Nah, nobody would be THAT stupid as to trust a machine to come up with the targets...".

This is A Good Thing, but I can’t helping but be struck yet again by how pointless and self-defeating it is for the UK to have to spend a decade or more of work and rebuilding relationships just to get to a position that’s still nowhere near as good as it was on 30th January 2020.

Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage want Britain to blindly follow Trump into this illegal war, even though the President has no plan for what comes next.

There is nothing patriotic about outsourcing Britain’s foreign policy to Donald Trump.

Nigel Farage is off to Florida - he can't resist an opportunity to talk down Britain and lick Trump's boots.

Another outstandingly good thread.

Emma Monk (‪@monkemma.bsky.social‬) is fast approaching national treasure status, I reckon.

“missiles that can now threaten our very good friends and allies in Europe,”

Wild that the Iranians have a missile that can only hit Hungary and Slovakia.

This is crazy. Surely by now the government must realise it will not achieve decency over division by trying to be Reform Lite?

I am just glad we will now get more cheerful pics on Instagram of the winning candidate’s rescued greyhounds.

That is my contribution to the earnest political analysis.

Thought his Trumpian temper tantrum was really disgraceful, even by his standards. Just utterly graceless in defeat - Gorton and Denton voters emphatically rejected him, the margin wasn't close - to undermine the legitimacy of a result like that is ugly stuff.

That's the thing with the Farage crew. With FPTP whilst 28-30% love them, the remaining 70-72% abhor them and will vote effectively. Meanwhile Labour, shorn of Blue Labour bollocks, might just have enough time to return to being a viable anti-Reform choice in the North and cities. Only might though.

Trump is the cautionary tale that the UK needed to keep his fervent devotee Farage well away from power.

He's lucky his boat wasn't blown out of the water by a drone, trying to invade a military base without permission is normally suicidal.

He single-handedly removed all talk of exit from all the 27 remaining nations, fantastic work. Shame we're the collateral damage.
