Yes, that actually works

Rocksky listens to app.rocksky.* records from the firehose (via Jetstream), so if you publish a valid app.rocksky.scrobble record directly to your PDS, it will be picked up.

That's basically how the internal backend and the Rocksky CLI work today

yep, but this only exposes the secret reference, not the value itself, the real secret is stored securely and injected at runtime

I was 6 when I discovered Gorillaz. Clint Eastwood changed everything for me. And somehow, after all these years, I still listen to it almost every day

musicbrainz couldn't resolve metadata and teal requires MBIDs, so Rocksky skipped publishing those scrobbles.
