A quick demo of climbing CO2 in a small indoor space and how opening a door to increase ventilation can make an area safer.

Two things that are both true: It is still important to test for COVID-19. False negatives on at-home COVID-19 tests* are common. *Also called home tests, rapid tests, antigen tests, and rapid antigen tests
False negatives on COVID-19 tests are common, so itâs important to test again if your test is negative. False negatives (test results saying you donât have COVID when you actually do) are common. If you have symptoms but test negative, test again at least one more time, 48 hours later. If you test positive, thereâs no need to test again. False positives (tests saying you have COVID when actually donât) are extremely rare.
It is still important to test so you can get the treatment you need. COVID-19 treatments are available for some people who are eligible, and they can significantly reduce your risk of hospitalization and death. Testing helps you to identify your illness so you can get the treatment you need!
If youâre sick but canât test (or retest): Get plenty of rest, avoid spreading it to others, and talk to your doctor if needed. If youâre feeling sick but donât have access to testing, itâs still important to give your body time to get better, and avoid spreading illness to others. Stay home as much as youâre able & get plenty of rest to allow your body to a chance to fully recover. Avoid others as much as possible (and remember, nobody wants illness spread to them even if itâs not COVID-19), and wear a mask if you have to be around others.
It's important to know that false negatives on home COVID-19 tests are common, so if you're not feeling well and get a negative result, you should always test again! But although false negatives happen, it's still important to get tested if possible so you can get the treatment you need!
Anyway. We need to care bc whatâs stopping someone from making a deep fake of you?
A reminder that any analysis of pandemic impacts on kids / education / economy that does not include a serious examination of the effects of #longCOVID is worthless, and one that does not even mention it should be assumed to be deliberately deceptive unless there's a good reason to think otherwise.
My parents, both in their 80s, appear to be suffering with undiagnosed #LongCOVID. Up until a "viral infection" of last year, they were active & relatively healthy. Now they both have extreme fatigue & overnight, my father lost hearing in one ear.
This is not normal aging. And it was preventable -

We need a rigorous, independent review of đ¨đŚ Canada's COVID response, & hard scrutiny of what stopped the Government from implementing what is known.
Because it's not for want of COVID data that all tiers of government mismanaged #COVID & continue to ignore #LongCOVID -
everyone needs to have a listen to this
its time for all of us to step up and build a better future together
there are municipal elections in six provinces this fall and if they are won by bullshit and fear
we will lose everything

âOur findings redefine SARS-CoV-2 infection as a condition of long-lasting immune compromise.â
At this point, I genuinely have no ability to comprehend how is anyone not scared sh*t-less about the long-term consequences of infections, especially on kids?

Long Covid rewires your brain, Degrades your quality of work, Increases your healthcare costs, and more

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
They all KNEW it was airborne from the start.
This is an excellent, brief video compilation highlighting the fact that a COVID pandemic was not inevitable.
It was preventable, allowed only by the arrogant incompetence of medical infection control leaders who saw outsiders as rivals for *their* turf.
Watch Martin's video below, then...
In honour of Long Covid Awareness Month, here are 2 asks for fellow Blueskyers
1. Wear an N95 in public to reduce transmission & in solidarity with the millions living with Long Covid
2. Please stand up to large accounts that minimize this illness & who dunk on disabled folks

As most of the COVID -safe/-aware community can tell you, try wearing a mask everywhere & declining indoor eating invitations and then see how many friends you have left.

âSchools are an ideal breeding ground for #measlesâ on CBC Radio 7pm news.
Of course they wouldnât have to be if
1. We cleaned the air in schools
2. Sick people wore masks and stayed away
3. Most importantly, kids were vaccinated before coming to school.
FFS. This is NOT hard.
Scientific conferences are superspreader events, including medical scientific conferences.
As we cross this six-year mark, WHO asks countries and partners, just as we ask ourselves: Is the world better prepared for the next pandemic?
The answer is yes and no.

Of course, "Combating misinformation on a large scale & building trust in institutions & science is essential to prevent unnecessary costs & improve population health".
Yes. But stop telling people the pandemic is over (has "subsided").
2/
Just because people aren't still dying in their millions in ICUs across the world, doesn't mean that the pandemic has "subsided".
âśď¸ We still have #LongCOVID, for which there is NO cure;
âśď¸ and we still have the cumulative risk of #Reinfections, long term organ harm, & immune dysregulation.

"While the COVID-19 pandemic has subsided, misinformation remains"
Unfortunately, this research paper risks adding to the misinformation it seeks to dismantle -

Welcome to 2026, where readers of đthe New York Postđ get a better education on the science of airborne disease transmission than an MD who just graduated from medical school at the University of British Columbia.
This is not hyperbole.
People need to go to jail for this.
