Ooh I use cattle panels for everything in my garden! They’re indispensable. (Tractor Supply has them but Inthink they’ve doubled in price since the pandemic.) I use the 16x4 size - they are perfect for everything.

Just let a potato soften in the dark. When it has bumps all over it that look like they’re getting bigger, cut the potato up so at least one bump is on each piece. Let the cut side “heal” for a couple days. Wait until April or so and then stick them in the ground, bump side pointing up.
