Necronomicon UK Horror Fanzine issue 54, August 2025, is out NOW! This British horror anthology special is available to buy for £2 plus postage. It's a load of nerdy rambling about old horror movies, but what other zine can you buy for £2 these days?

I was not ready for the level of cringe that new The Crow film has. I thought it would be camp cringe, not the type that even 13 year old emo fans would find cringe. A manic pixie dream girl character in 2025? Wtf are we doing.
I used to work in an independent video shop in the 1990s. Former video shop clerks - tell me your stories! If you didn't work in one, then tell me about your old local independent video shop.

What scene in a movie gives you goosebumps every time you watch it? 🎥
Dance scene in Fright Night (1985).

I have seen every Jurassic Park film when they were first released at the cinema. I'm easily pleased when it comes to JP films. If you told me the new film was footage of my own family being killed but had a dinosaur in for 0.5 seconds, I would still go watch it and highly enjoy it.

THANK YOU. As someone who worked in an independent video shop with a Blockbuster up the road, it drives me nuts to see so much nostalgia for Blockbuster. Their choice of videos was lacking, rentals were over priced, the servers pushed snack deals on customers... Nostalgia for a corporation is wild.
As an adult, I've watched thousands of horror films and none of them have given me recurring nightmares like the TV show A Handmaid's Tale has.
It would have been Ray Harryhausen's birthday today. Flashback to the greatest birthday I had, when I went to the Ray Harryhausen exhibition in Edinburgh. Ever since that day, it wrecked any enthusiasm to celebrate my birthday, because nothing will ever beat getting to meet all of his creations.
Remembering Ray Harryhausen, the undisputed master of stop motion animation, born OTD in 1920. He fired the imaginations of generations before his death in 2013, and he taught us: patience pays off in the end.
Noroi: The Curse (2005) is my absolute favourite found footage horror film. The trailer makes it look like trash and doesn't do it any justice. It has so many great uses of different formats to form a fake documentary film, and it has so many side plots and layers! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixVC...

The music often randomly plays in my head.
Possibly the funniest, daftest and campest death scene ever filmed. It lives rent free in my head.

If I look up an occult author's photo before buying their book and find they are wearing more than three items of occult bling, then I remove their book from my cart. I know the signs.
I have been locked out of my Instagram account because I DARED to sign in on a DAMN DIRTY LAPTOP instead of a phone and Instagram thought it was sus. I hope to get access back soon. I have not started classically DFE in some mentie b episode like the old days. I will be back!

Absolutely obsessed with the camp of this. So stupid but simultaneously so so cool. Exactly how I love my dance scenes in horror TV/films. #wednesday #wednesdayaddams

Happy 50th birthday to one of my favourite ever films, Jaws! Yeah, I'm a day late, but I forget I have a Blue Sky account. I reviewed the #Jaws franchise in Necronomicon fanzine, issue 53, last June. Here's the first two pages of my nonsense, with a link to the issue in the comments.
