They say consistency is the key to success... Being reliable and dependable in life clearly runs into my marathon training too! Just call me Denis Irwin (IYKYK). Had a bit of fun chasing the trams along the canal tonight. 🌅🚃💪🏃♀️
Enjoyed taking part in the first-ever Media City half marathon this morning. That’s the first race of the year done. Nice consistent pace. Chip time 1:51:35. Decent effort. The countdown to Brighton Marathon is on - 7 weeks to go. 🏃♀️🥇
💥 Back in business! Wrist officially signed off by the consultant. I can now do what I like again. Omitted to tell him I’ve been doing a bit more each week for a while though! Happy with my range of movement. Just a bit of physio to get it 100%. Celebratory hot chocolate it is!🍫
Start of a new week vibes…
💥 The final🏃♀️of 2024 ✅. A total of 230 runs, 2,100Km (1,300 miles) and 204hrs of running. Highlights include Chester Marathon PB (4:11:56) MCR Half PB (1:48:12), Media City 5K PB (24:07). Went hardcore running Wilmslow 10K with a broken wrist!🥇💪🔥 #runningmotivation #mentalwellbeing
A very calm and peaceful Friday evening stroll around Salford Quays. Feeling incredibly still. Quiet end of year vibes. Great for the body and mind. #mentalwellbeing
That’s one off the bucket list…a hospital bed with my name above it for the first time! Wrist surgery done with nerve block injection. Felt like an out of body experience-could feel the surgeon manipulating my arm without the pain. This bionic woman just has to recover well. Thanks #NHS #Manchester💪
Enjoyed running the @RunnorthwestRun Wilmslow Festive 10K dressed as a Christmas pudding! Limited left arm movement due to broken wrist so no PB chasing. Just a nice, steady and sensible 🏃♀️ to complete the final race of what has been an incredible year of running. Official chip time: 55:21.🌲🎅
😂 Whoever said walking was good for you lied! Went tumbling on a stroll in yesterday’s #Manchester black ice = broken left wrist. 😩. At least my running legs are unscathed! Phew! Thanks #NHS for sorting me out. Just need to start practising my one-handed typing skills! 💻
As cool as you like… Wasn’t going to let a few flakes of the #Manchester icy, sleety white stuff stop me from completing the ‘Run the Year’ challenge tonight. A total of 215 runs over 196 hours and that’s 2,024Km of running done in 2024. 🥶 🧊 ❄️ 🏃♀️ #RunTheYear2024
