Watching a series that's overly dependent upon texting and really starting to understand the Robert Eggers quote about never wanting to make a contemporary film: "The idea of photographing a cell phone is just death." #filmsky

Local group opposing plans to build an AI data center is using AI slop in their promotional materials. (We're cooked).
Things are so bad Tom Waits' is coming out of musical retirement with an anti-war song? (Hyped to hear it btw).
It seems like my kind of flick in theory! Will report back. (Internet spoiled the premise for me long ago).
Not sure if this is complimentary or...? Hoping to catch it soon.
Possibly the first Final Four with clear Samuel Beckett references from the commentators? "Waiting for Cadeau." #finalfour
Not well. Resisted the urge.
Watched some YouTube clips of the Springsteen show in Minneapolis and got so hyped up wanna stomp around the neighborhood with a bullhorn yelling "F*ck ICE!"
Big crowd streaming across the Broadway Bridge in Little Rock. #NoKings
Many horror movies these days are trenchant examinations of generational trauma but occasionally it's nice to slum it for a change and watch...a rabid monkey trapping some kids in a swimming pool. #filmsky
Sad to report that I didn't know Don DeLillo wrote an erotic hockey novel in 1980 under the pseudonym Cleo Birdwell...

Enjoyed Project Hail Mary as a well-crafted, well-meaning, crowd-pleasing (early) summer blockbuster but it never fully locked in for me on an emotional level like Close Encounters/Contact/Interstellar/The Arrival. Will try again sometime. Happy it's gonna be a big hit! #filmsky
Happy birthday to Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Love this Little Rock mural.
Would have been nice. Great looking film! Netflix just won't oblige.
Cool thing about tonight's Best Picture showdown is that One Battle and Sinners are both pretty great! #filmsky
Conway area making an appearance on Jeopardy this week (category is "fun place names").
"Merry Christmas, chicken tendies!"
Big parsley fans up ahead.
If Vladimir had been a week to week series on HBO the discourse would be absolutely unhinged. But on Netflix...crickets. Nice to see John Slattery in a juicy role again although he's essentially playing an academic version of Roger Sterling with tenure.
The Bride was, sadly, not for me. But kinda love this shot of her and Frank at the movies. #filmsky
Can we set the clocks ahead and spring forward into a less insane timeline? Gonna try.
Hope you check it out!
A three hour documentary about the history of video stores in popular culture told entirely through film and TV clips (no talking heads) might not be everyone's cup of tea but I've been enjoying this strange and obsessive flick this week. (Criterion Channel). #filmsky
If anything, a review like this makes me want to see The Bride even more...#filmsky
Sturgill's sounding about one album out from becoming the guru of a hippy disco sex cult (complimentary).
Perfect!
All the news is depressing but it's Twin Peaks Day and I'm out here looking for the perfect slice of cherry pie.
Got 17 minutes to spare? You'll probably like this Oscar-nominated short film. Sad and funny and touching. #filmsky
