'A Healthy Correction' | Bob Diamond Shares Thoughts On $1.6 Trillion Selloff
'A Healthy Correction' | Bob Diamond Shares Thoughts On $1.6 Trillion Selloff YouTube video by Bloomberg Podcasts

I notice "healthy correction" is EXACTLY the phrase Bobby D just used youtu.be/erji0qig8EU?... TIN HAT TIME!!!!

5 months ago 0 0 0 0

So it went from: "who cares about low quality over priced IPOs that never had any hope of making profits"
to:
"Oh. Ah. Debt defaults in airlines and telcos. Fraud. Are life insurers bust? Corporate pension return assumptions are way too optimistic. World is ending. But let's invade Iraq anyway."

My charts don't go back that far. But I think the Nasdaq peaked 6 months before the FTSE? People thought there was a "healthy correction", late 2000/early 2001... but then Sept 11 happened and Enron and the other TMTs turned out to be a fraud. Frank Quatrone investigated for CSFB emails etc

At least you're not "cautiously optimistic" - a phrase that became the equivalent of "strong balance sheet" in 2007/8.
