Sanderson doesn’t really insult the adaptation or at least has not since it was out and has clearly learned some lessons and thought more deeply , pulling back on his criticism

I’d feel more confident about the other live action and animated movies that have been in development for years already and have directors attached and everything

Also goes opposite with promises. Some can’t make a promise or an old fashioned oath or loyalty to someone if they don’t truly mean it and may be kinda forced to keep their word at least until their mindset changes internally

Well yes in the books there are plenty examples. When Siuan tells someone she will use them as fish bait she is being sarcastic after all lol but yes Robert Jordan did go and clarify that in interviews as well

Truth telling prevention only activates when there is an active attempt to deceive that they believe the person they’re speaking to will be unable to distinguish . They can tell jokes or be sarcastic just fine lol but good thought
