LRT speaking as someone who does work professionally in concept art and stuff, if I open a reference and can tell it’s genAI’d , I close the tab. I will not use it. It serves me no purpose and it only gives the genAI bros an excuse to keep making their slop.
I don’t see why others can’t do the same.
Real references are very important because if you start using the ai trash and what it regurgitates you are not learning anything. The real references have a way of being, their elements make sense, their colours are natural... You can't have anything of this with ai refs.
Look, if this country ever gets through this, MAGA memorabilia needs to be treated like Nazi memorabilia. Trump's signature should be akin to scarlet letter. Having a MAGA hat in your house should be like having Klan robes or family photos taken at a lynching.
Shocked to see some artists saying that using ai slop as reference is ok. It's really fucking not. Not only are you still using the mashed-up uncredited work of the rest of us artists, but it degrades your whole visual library because it hallucinates. If you do this I do not respect you
