Fried Green Tomatoes was based on a 1987 book titled 'Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe' where Idgie and Ruth were most definitely a couple... about as close to married as gays could be back then. The 1991 movie, due to bigotry, made it quite a bit more ambiguous so the movie could be interpreted as one about "sisterhood." Even added in Ruth dating Idgies older brother. Shit you not, have had arguments about it. Straight people just DO NOT seem to see queer-coding. Regardless, the actors did a fantastic job of portraying their characters' love for one another... one of them I remember said something like... they couldn't say it in words, so they had to say it with their expressions. Also, just like the scenes of Jayce crying being removed, scenes of intimacy that had been planned were taken out of this movie, too. If you ever get a chance to watch Fried Green Tomatoes do it, it's a fan-fucking-tastic movie all around... it's beautiful, empowering, and as always... sad as fuck.

Jayce doesn't move, clearly unfazed by or unaware of the glowing phantom in his bedroom. In fact, he rolls onto his other side and presses his thighs together, one arm working its way between them so he can begin rutting against it. Viktor's eyes widen, his hand hovering just shy of Jayce's ankle as he observes Jayce's circular hip movements. He shouldn't. He definitely shouldn't. Viktor's hand trails over the outside of Jayce's top thigh toward where he's riding his own hand. His touch is so featherlight that he can feel the ends of Jayce's leg hair shift under it. Everything slows down as he reaches the crux of it all, hand ghosting over the radiating heat and making shivers break out up his arm. He tests his theory again, touching Jayce's bed with his other hand and feeling just stiffness. It doesn't make sense. By all accounts, this should be impossible. He touched Jayce before and nothing happened, but this... The glowing of his metaphysical body must have something to do with it, and Viktor is sure that if he set his mind to it he could think up some possible explanations, but he doesn't care to. Not now.

Finally done with this one! Started this in January and postponed it indefinitely. I'm glad I found the motivation to finish it now! Had to redraw Jayce's face multiple times. The anatomy and hands in this are far from perfect but I really love the end result 🥰
