White-throated sparrows greeted the sunrise with song but remained unseen. So the starling swooping in as soon as I was judged to be an acceptable distance away from the mealworms was #FirstBirdOfMyDay.

I think he was waiting for dinner to fly by. I was just an annoyance. ๐
A green anole on an old mailbox. Pretty sure he's rolling his eyes at me. (I do have a new, replacement mailbox, but now I don't know if I should mess with Mr. Anole's hangout! )
Look who's back! He displayed his red dewlap when I first came upon him. Of course, I didn't have my phone in hand, and after I went inside to get it, I couldn't entice him to show it off again.
Spring arrives early in Arkansas.

My alt text never shows up on videos either. I looked it up once, and if I remember correctly, it can only be seen by people using screen readers. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
A red strawberry speckled with seeds
First garden strawberry of the year!
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: American robin fluttering on a branch outside the window. Was his display to make sure I saw him first, or to remind me he's waiting for mealworms?
Three cats watching the backyard rabbits intently through a screened window.
We also have cats watching the bunnies (from inside only).
A small eastern cottontail rabbit sits on a root from the sugarberry tree, contemplating the next course of their meal.
We have bunnies! Two juniors (not babies, but still littles) have been hanging around in the backyard, eating everything that tastes good. Could never get them both in the same photo. ๐

The chief inspector looks very chief inspector-y!!
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: American robin. Definitely the early bird.
Kangaroo paw = another visit to Google for me!
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: European starlings again, waiting on the late mealworms again. A person is not allowed to sleep in around here! If starlings wore watches, they'd be tapping them and glaring at me.

#FirstBirdOfMyDay: European starling landing on a cedar branch to look in the window and watch me eat breakfast, an accusing look in his eye because I did not come outside in the rain to leave mealworms

Sounds more enticing than silage-, byproducts- and antibiotic-fed protein. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I prefer sunlight-fed protein. ๐

A bird on a mission!

The supposed format is that the bulk of the newspaper/broadcast news/online media is made up of fair, unbiased reporting, with opinions being shared exclusively via the clearly identified editorials and op-eds. Of course, reality doesn't live up to that.
๐ Love is in the air, and the American robins are everywhere! The sparrows are lying low, saving their energy for their imminent migration back north, I think.

Thanks for the fun Saturday mornings of my childhood.
Ha ha, thanks -- I might need to start a #RubbishLizardPics feed! ๐คฃ
There's just something about watching the sun shine through tree branches, right?
I've missed your sunlight-through-the-trees photos! ๐
Lovely!!
