The sister film to The Machine Girl. A movie that is like STARDOM, it’s influential, has high-level work, a good intro to the genre, & is flashy, but for many Westerners, it's the only thing that they’ve seen (often via clips on SNS). Still great.

It’s tube biasing with different wattage and headroom. 64 will distort quicker and have what many consider to be a warmer tone. It’s probably subtle; the main changes from 64 to 66 are cabinet designs and speaker types, which this doesn’t offer.

Surf Nazis Must Die (1987) My go-to film after my mom died in 2008. I would zone out to the Warren Miller-style surf sequences used as padding. Jon McCallum score is one of the best of the 80s. Weirdly relaxing brutalist coastal architecture. King Crimson graffiti the cherry on top.
Nearly impossible to ever live up to Watching From A Distance but this is really good. I’ve spent 20yrs w/ that, so I was worried this would fall terribly short.
