By these standards, I'm doing great: fighting, fighting, fighting against mining, against gas pipelines along the San Pedro River - against corporate greed and political corruption on both sides. Failing along the way!

I laughed pretty hard!
Baby javelina crosses the camera, her white collar evident in this black and white photo, making it evident why they are called "Collared Peccaries." She's smiling, too.
Itty bitty mountain #javelina on #cameratrap. You can't tell, but this little red has red fur!
An owl lands at the shallow pond, off balance, one foot up, long wings akimbo! A moth happens to be at the tip of one wing like a little starburst.
Love everything about this #cameratrap shot at our shallow pond, of a great-horned #owl: wingspan, off-balance stance, moth, eye glow.
A female wild turkey shows us her backside with her beautiful white-tipped tail and wings.
This perennial stretch of river has a lovely cottonwood canopy and lush vegetation growing alongside the river.
There willows only recently grew back in once the trespass cattle were removed. They love grazing on the tender shoots and destroy any of the native vegetation trying to make a comeback.
Spent time on one of the mitigation properties along the lower San Pedro, monitoring stream flow. Such important conservation land along some of the river's remaining perennial stretches, threatened by #mining. Wild #turkeys, #riparian areas of #cottonwoods and #willows. #AZWater
He is just the best cat!
It's one of my favorite things he does!
He heeded your suggestion!
It's #Caturday. Squeezy can be very canine-esque... He loves to take his mousie toy, carry it to the pantry, and then play behind the curtain.
Yes, healthy!! I love these guys. I call the black ones "Licorice" and the pink versions "Hubba Bubba" -- going with a 'candy' theme for nicknames! Ha ha.
Yes.. memories of days that were filled with a lot more brightness. Literally and in other ways, pre-mining hell.
What looks like a black whip is stretched out to the black water bowl, dipping its snakey head into the water for a drink.
In this photo, the snake has finished drinking and has draped itself OVER the water bowl as it moves on through. Head/neck are off the left side, tail off the right.
While I was on a phone call yesterday, saw someone visiting outside my office window. Coachwhip #snake taking a nice, long drink.
Great footage as usual!
At least seven female Mule deer have heads bent to the pond and water bowl, taking a drink. Lots of eye shine in this pic.
Hello, there, ladies! Mule #deer does caught on the pond #cameratrap.
Arizona's buttes poke up in the background - Holy Joe Peak the tiny eraser-tip one in the background. In the foreground are lots of yellow, flowering palo verdes.
A sea of yellow rests at the foothills of the Galiuro Mountains.
Five saguaros rise from a nest of yellow-blooming palo verde trees.
This is the first time in about 8 years that we've had a #paloverde, #mesquite and #acacia bloom like this, which once was the norm every spring - back before the exceptional droughts began.
This is wonderful, even if my itchy eyes and sneezy nose disagree. #SonoranDesert
Oof- that's what I meant. The Whitewater Draw area is such a magical experience!
Agree. Have you ever been down to the Willcox Playa in Arizona, where they migrate? Guess I caught a group of late migrators heading back north.
I get it. Fun to find!
WHoa. That's wild!
A Cooper's Haw sits on an old railroad tie, looking right, over its shoulder, head tilted upward, listening. In the foreground: tan grasses. In the background: lush, green palo verde trees in yellow bloom.
Blue skies silhouette a "mostly" V formation of 7 long-necked cranes and outstretched wings.
Fantastic sights outside my office window this week: 1) Cooper's #hawk 2) migrating sandhill #cranes ...
Yes, cranes migrate through this unique desert flyway of Arizona's #SanPedroRiver. On occasion, I get lucky enough to see them! #birds
Yes, Judy. Yes! ;-)
Yes, that IS a water dip. We've witnessed that quite frequently over the years. I think they get a bit more hydration that way.
Yeah... while we're not seeing them up at the house, they ARE around in the wash. I miss our 'tame' roadies!
Wow
Absolutely beautiful.
Haha. I figured that's how it would end ... but - bonus- your cam still works!
What state?
I 100% believe you. Very cool.
Eating them!
We think similarly. We chose to do NO landscaping in the front, too, and let nature drop her wildflowers here and there. I deliberately leave the area under the palo verde wild, as it creates an incredible little micro habitat for all kinds of wildlife/insects, etc.
