The SeaSounds Project – Blind Initiative 🌊🐋 is revolutionizing marine science in the San Francisco Bay.
Pairing advanced adaptive acoustic technology with the unique auditory expertise of blind and low-vision researchers, we’re exploring whale vocalizations that traditional research may overlook.
Vessel strikes from high speed recreational craft can also cause injury and mortality among whales and other marine life.

haha, we are equally obsessed with sounds of the underwater world! We use a Spotter Sound buoy from Sofar Ocean Technologies which contains an advanced hydrophone, water sensor and satellite links to a remote dashboard. The blue sensor tests for salinity and dissolved oxygen.
