🐛 WURMPLE WEDNESDAYS 2026
— Prompt 1: Alternate Type(s)
Kickin' it off with a boo! 👻🎉
There’s still time to join Wurmpril until the end of April, check the list of prompts on the account page or at wurmpril.carrd.co! ✨
Conveniently 2026's first prompt was also one I had started working on for 2025. There is more to this entire drawing, but I don't have the juice to finish the whole thing currently...
This piece of art is for the Wurmpril 2026 prompt "Alt. Type(s)" ... Which was one of the prompts I began working on from last year's prompt list; yay for finishing an art, kinda. The artwork is of a Wurmple facing left. It is holding its head/face with its arms and looking down with (my attempt to draw) a sad/zombie-like expression. The Wurmple has been parasitized by wasp larvae and is becoming a ghost type; Wurmple looks wispier, has more purple in its colour palette than normal, and little ghost-shaped creatures are attached to its body. The background is vague forest: dark green-purple canopy up top, a pale blue-green clearing, and reddish-purple grassy shapes in the foreground. Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar also appear floating in the background and are showing concern/fear about Wurmple's ghost transformation.
Here to do more of the #wurmpril challenge.
Prompt: alt. type(s)
I imagine the ghost typing is gained if one does not survive parasitism. (And the OG ghosts, #Gastly, #Haunter, and #Gengar, are slightly aghast.)

This piece of art is for the Wurmpril 2025 prompt "berries." It's late, sorry. The artwork features a Wurmple which has eaten through a pile of three berries. There is a rawst berry on the left, an oran berry on the right, and an aspear berry behind these two to create a round-triangular pile of berries. The Wurmple has tunneled through the three berries, so it appears in three parts: 1. Its head and front part of its body are popping out of the oran berry and Wurmple is kinda waving at the viewer, 2. the middle part of its body reappears from the aspear berry and disappears behind it, 3. and Wurmple's tail end is shown at the entry point of the triple-berry tunnel which is the rawst berry. The background is pretty a general blue sky + vague green grass. There are a couple of puffy white clouds toward the top of the drawing, with some pinkish-purple dreamy clouds on the top right (because this piece is actually on the same page and connected to the previous Wurmpril piece I did... some of the clouds are just overlap.) Additionally, there are two Oddish, one on each side of the berry pile, planted in the ground to look like bigger grassy pieces of the background. The left Oddish is peaking out from behind the rawst berry, and the right Oddish is smiling next to the oran berry.
"Berries" piece for late #wurmpril.
April was kinda rough, but I still want to chip away at the six remaining drawings for the ten prompts I chose. 🤷

This piece of art is for the Wurmpril 2025 prompt "nap time." The artwork features two sleeping Wurmples. The middle, pupal evolutions, Silcoon and Cascoon, are drawn as pillows; and, the final, adult-bug evolutions, Beautifly and Dustox, are drawn as blankets. In the top drawing, a Wurmple is sleeping on its back-and-side with the Silcoon pillow under its head and the Beautifly blanket pulled up under its first set of legs. The overall appearance is meant to resemble drifting away to sleep. In the bottom drawing, another Wurmple sleeps on its stomach with the Cascoon pillow under its head and the Dustox blanket pulled over itself like a little blanket-hood; the Wurmple is drooling as it sleeps. The appearance is meant to depict the after-you-crash nap. The background is a gradient (from left to right) of dark-black night sky and evening pastel-ish sunset, and the ground beneath the lower Wurmple is green and vaguely grassy. Additional Pokémon featured are: Jigglypuff singing in the top right, Minior, Lunatone, and Staryu floating in the night sky portion (left side of art mostly) as spacey-nighttime objects, and Musharna, bottom-center of the art, producing its sleepy pink-purple clouds.
This was going to be two parts, but, whatever.

This piece of art is for the Wurmpril 2025 prompt "bug friends." The artwork has three bug-Pokémon friends hanging out with wurmple. They are all right-facing, and walking: venipede is to wurmple's right, trapinch at the back, and paras to wurmple's left. The background is a pastel-ish sunset (from left to right: blue, purple, pink, orange, and yellow,) and the ground beneath them is vague grassy shapes of the same colours, just darker and greyer.
Another piece for the #wurmpril challenge: bug friends.
A #venipede for my friend, Ray, and a #paras for myself. We also both agreed that #trapinch should be here as an honorary bug. Yay friends!

This piece of art is for the Wurmpril 2025 prompt "beloved." The artwork closely resembles the main menu screen from Kingdom Hearts. A Wurmple sits on a sandy beach with a leaf that it munched on, standing in where Sora normal is in the original art. The Kingdom Hearts logo is changed to read "(Dearly) beloved Wurmple" and some other Pokémon aspects were incorporated into the art.
Playing catch-up for the #wurmpril challenge!
(Hoping to complete 10-ish prompts that intrigue me.)
Anyway, the word "beloved" makes me think of a specific main menu screen and its accompanying music; 2002 was a good year.

(Apologies, for I am about to repost my four Wurmple arts from last April. It probably isn't annoying, but it feels annoying to me.)

The little pink flower is "spring beauty" and Mohawk actually did some work with them, saw all sorts of pollinators visit them and such! Love that stuff.
Art of my current profile picture/icon, whatever we call these things these days... The art is a somewhat cartoony/chibi-styled leopard gecko with a blade of grass in its mouth. The leopard gecko is mostly yellow and white, and patternless except for a few tail spots, and with a bluish-purple blended background. She had greenish-blue eyelids (called it her "eye shadow"), so I usually include that when I draw her; she was a little diva.
Probably going to change my icon soon, so I'm posting my little gecko art here.
I miss her so much still.
Did you know that the bees that need saving are NOT honeybees?
Honeybees are the dairy cows of bees. People brought them over from Europe to make us honey.
The problem with honeybees, esp in resource-limited ecosystems (like hey! cities!) is that they compete with our native bees for food.
"This Cat Was Special"
This is my second favorite piece ever and I want more people to see it. This took MONTHS to make so I literally can’t afford to make this kind of stuff often. If you wanna see more of this idk, let me know or buy a print.
Completed t-shirt design for a club. It's a weevil with the colour scheme of a bald eagle, flying to the left. The weevil's legs resemble eagle talons, and the elytra + beetle wings have feather-y shapes incorporated into them.
Idea sketch for t-shirt design. A weevil is sketched in red ink and an eagle in green ink. The animals are overlapped and aligned to help think of ways to combine their features.
Howdy, I should be returning soon, and with new, completed artwork hopefully.
Until then, please enjoy this weevil t-shirt design + sketch done for a bug club back in 2022. (Also, do not use this art/design in any way, shape, or form. Thanks.)

A tiled illustrated pattern featuring various species found in the intertidal zone of the Pacific coast. There is a two spot octopus, sea cucumber, ochre sea star, California mussel, bat star, black turban snail, chiton, purple sea urchin, anemones, sea lemon, opalescent nudibranch, blue-banded hermit crab, purple shore crab, California aglaja, red abalone, and a green fluffy sculpin. They are illustrated and arranged on a teal-blueish background.

An ink drawing of a hummingbird visiting a fuchsia flower. The linework is blue ballpoint pen, the color is very liquid-y highlighters, and the areas of lighting are white gel pen; done on bluish-purple cardstock.
A drawing of a crested caracara flying above some water. Left a lot of negative space in this one, and added yellow and blue contour cloudy lines to compliment the purple used in the bird.
Pen drawings of three birds requested by IG followers in 2018. Art was done in a sketchbook and with BIC multicolor pens. An eagle flies toward the top-right corner of the page, colors mostly black and dark blue with a touch of light blue. The underside of the eagle is viewed, much like looking up at circling vultures silhouetted in the sky. A blue jay sits on a tree branch, somewhat central in the art, colors mostly dark blue and light blue. The jay sits with its back to the viewer, looking back over its right shoulder. A (brave) sparrow stands to the right of the blue jay on the same branch, colors mostly light green and dark green with a touch of light blue. The sparrow attempts to puff up, wings raised in a threatening manner, at the jay to spook it off. There is a large tree branch that stretches from the bottom right corner of the art and stretches over to the left edge of the page, it gradients from light green to light blue, and ends in a big leafy bunch on the left side. The rest of the page was left white.
A drawing of a wood duck couple swimming beside each other; the female is in the top-left facing left, and the male is in the bottom-right facing right. It's a pretty standard ducks-on-water piece, accurate colours, and my additional (but usual) contour line usage.

A watercolor painting of an eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly. The colors of the butterfly are accurate: mostly yellow with black striping and body, subtle blues in the hindwings. The wing venation resembles bird feathers. It is supposed to be a top view of the butterfly in flight, so it flies toward the top-left corner of the watercolor paper. The piece is divided in half diagonally, where the butterfly takes up the majority of the bottom-right half, and green and brown foliage fills in the top-left half of the painting.
Started in December 2021, finished in December 2025.
I like what I tried to do with this, but I am no watercolor master so I'll just have to keep pushing myself with it.

Also, sorry I was gone for most of it, but:
Happy belated winter holidays.
And I will likely still be scarce on the internet for a month or so.
Be well.

Boromir from THE LORD OF THE RINGS, holding The One Ring. He thought he could use it for good, but everything done with the ring turns to evil. He was one of the mightiest warriors of middle earth, and he could not resist its powers. Others even mightier fell to the ring. Do you think you are stronger than them? The One Ring is generative AI.
Techbros seem to love Tolkien, so here's an analogy to help you understand what genAI is.
GenAI is The One Ring. You think your use is justified, b/c you don't have evil in your heart.
But it came from evil, it is intended for evil purpose, & anything you do with it will be twisted to that end.
