Excited to share I've been awarded the @thefsbi.bsky.social PITF Outgoing Fellowship this year! I'll share more about my project & the research I'll be doing nearer the time (it's several months away though I'm already prepping) but I will say it's a very very VERY cool project 😎🦈
New paper out!
Beyond #eDNA potential—this work a major collaborative effort and brings out several key lessons learned from applying #eDNA for monitoring diadromous fish-what works, what needs caution. @thefsbi.bsky.social #JFB onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/... @azti.bsky.social #SeaLamprey
The Journal of Fish Biology is publishing a Special Issue reflecting the theme of this year’s FSBI Symposium: Breaking Siloes in Fish Biology! Now open for submissions, with papers to be made available as early view from acceptance. For further information, please visit: bit.ly/4trMdnD

Do you work with eDNA or are you interested in its applications? IFM are organising a FREE event in Bristol: "Applied uses of eDNA in Aquatic Systems". Guest speaker Buffy Smith (eDNA Consultancy). You can register for the event, here: ifm.org.uk/events/sw-br...
New paper 🐟📈📉📏🌡️!
Super happy to see this paper led by JM Matte out!
We analyzed 50 years of juvenile Atlantic salmon data (Miramichi & Restigouche Rivers, Can) to test how size-at-age has changed and what’s driving it.

Great to see NoWPaS in full swing at Hólar University, Iceland! An amazing event, bringing together ECRs from both sides of the Atlantic, and beyond, at a crucial time for salmonids. The FSBI has long supported NoWPaS and it's great to see Joris Philip (FSBI PhD) sharing the FSBI's other benefits!
